Noob trying to learn how?

ok so im trying to learn how to change the texture of a modded weapon that a friend of mine created a very long time ago..he has since dissapeared and the weapons he made has the clans name i use to be in but have since then moved on and have a great clan that i created of my own..so now i want to change the look of his weapons so they dont have the old clan name down the side of it...any help?

All depends on what weapons. There are multiskins to take into consideration. Send me the UTX file and I'll have a look at the weap Textures for ya

well they are all .u files and how do you want me to send them..but i really want to learn how to do it not someone just do it for me so i can get a good start on how to do this kind of stuff

Okay, the texture that needs to be changed is JHammerTex4.
Copy and paste the .U file, give it a new name. Now, open this new .U file, make yourself a new texture, DELETE JHammerTex4 and Import the new texture. MAKE SURE TO NAME THE NEW ONE JHammerTex4. Don't do this with other weapons-this .U file just doesn't refer to itself, so it's possible.

lol ok hence the noob part..how do i extract a part of the file.. what programs will i need to complete this adventure..hence why i was asking for a tutorial from beginning to end

Well, this is fairly complex... Might want to try a tutorial on Ued basics first. Try this one:

ok so i do i use editor for that weapon..i cant seperate and view the seperate files in that pack or even view it in editor

Your weapon appears under Actor->Inventorty->Weapon->Tournamentweapon->Imacthammer->MOZHammer.
Find that, then copy all the script from it into a .txt file.
