Unreal
Unreal MP
Rune
Mobile Forces
X-Com Enforcer
Unreal Tournament

And this tick was working like a charm

I can write tutorial if someboty ist actully interested in it .

But the question is...does the screen really split for 2 players  ? I kinda doubt it.

That would be interesting.

I play the dreamcast version of UT occasionally, and it does real split screen display for 2 players just fine.

Sry for not replaying for so long but i got some thing to take care of :/

Ok this trick use one wird thins in UE1 games , i dont know why but windows send input from joystick to inactive UE1 game . So you can control the game on joystick even when the window isnt active .

This litle tutorial will allow you to use this trick :

1. Install any unreal engine game you wan to play , and connect any controler you want to use .
I prefer dual analog for using with this .
2.Then go to System and run a game , change the video options and change that game will run in window mode .
3. Make a buckup of folder System in game directory and rename it to "System - 2nd"
4. Go to "System - 2nd" and rename the .exe file etc Unreal.exe to Unreal - 2nd.exe
(renaming .exe file will allow you to run game 2 times on ona PC)
5. Start Unreal - 2nd.exe open console and ender "preferences"
6. In Advenced Options go to Advenced -> Raw Key Bingins
Ok and now you have to check witch axix are wich , command you want to use on axis are :

Axis aLookUp speed=-0.2 (for looking up/down)
Axis aturn speed=0.2 (for turning)
Axis astrafe speed=2 (for streafing)
Axis aBaseY speed=2 (for moving forward/backward)

Now go down until you will find JoyR to JoyZ this are you axis now enter the command and check if you applay correct command to correct axis , if you want to invert looking simply enter "-" before speed etc "-0.2"

If the axis all configurate correctly then do some button mapping , the best thing ist that you can edit Advencet Options on the fly with game running and chceck the configuration :) ok and remamber to add somwhere on joystick "open 127.0.0.1" this will allow you to join to the local host .

On now when everything ist ready simply fo to System and run Unreal.exe , then go to System - 2nd and run Unreal - 2nd.exe on the first Unral start the multiplayer game and join from the second one :)

Ok thats all i think . You can use any UE1 game , i personal have tested MobileForces , Rune , Unreal , UnrealTournament , X-COM Enforcer and all game have been working like a charm .

ps.Sry for my english :p

after 2 years one minor information , im using dual monitors on my pc (40"tv and 22" monitor) so one player can play on tv (simply drag one unreal window to other display and maximalize it) and the other can play on monitor , i have no idae how to split sound to 2 seperat outputs so fill free to tell me if u know how on and one more thing , u can write .bat file to start 2 .exe at the same time and an example .bat file saved in unreal folder :

start ./system/unreal.exe
start ./system - 2nd/unreal - 2nd.exe

Quite glad you bumped this thread, as I never saw it before.
So obvious when you think about it. Run 2 copies, and remap the keys.
Run as 2 windows or separate screens.

nVidia users can easily automate the allocation of the screens by using the profiles.
There are a few tools which can store profiles for screens and programs on any chipset.
http://my.opera.com/Unreal-Tournament/b ... ak-windows

To get 2 lots of audio from 2 games will usually require 2 sound chips.
Most PCs have onboard sound, so you should easily have the space for a cheap PCI sound card (borrow one to test).
The modern sound renderers available from Oldunreal can be manually configured for a second sound card.

The only other option I can think of, requires support in the software or renderers (I could ask Smirftsch if this is possible).
Quad speaker setup could theoretically be separated, so 1 player has the front 2, and the other has the rear speakers.

using 2 cards/chips means you have the full amount of effects channels available to each player.
32 for the old Galaxy renderer, and 64 for all the newer ones.
Sharing the same chip/card would require you set your chosen renderer to half of the available channels.
16 for the old Galaxy renderer, and 32 for all the newer ones.

Proof of concept
Proof of concept
After 3 years i manage to do some upgrades with this mod or whathewer u want to call it :P
its now possible to play 4 players on single PC , i mage to send individual input from 4 seperate controllers to diffrent UT instances running on my PC , then i wrote AutoHotKey script that will automaticly hide menu start and window borders then positions 4 windows on desktop, if someone is interested in this then i can provide info . Its awsome to play on TV with friends.
