UT University course

Post by Dr.Flay »

I have no idea how well known these tutorials are, but as I have not found any reference to them, I'll post here.
It is a good collection, very well presented and easy to follow.

Creative Games project produced at Salford University, MSc Creative Games.

*EDIT*
I just found a large document there called "Unreal_Manual.zip" (It is in German)

Nice stuff. Can`t believe most of the shit is still working. Unbelievable after over 10 years...
About to be non-active
My very last UT map project: CTF-FacePalm (tropical CTF-Face remake)
Why do I leave? click here
What I want to do next: Joining an UDK team (uncertain however) and improve 3D modelling and texture editing skills
Thanks to those who visibly supported me until/at the end!

I know what you mean. I'm actually not even sure how I found it now.
Just in case it disappears any time soon, I have accessed the pages via the "Web Archive" service, so it should always be available (once it is assimilated).
I cannot find a way to the tutorial from the front page, so I am guessing this is just for the students that did the course.

Cool!

Been trying to figure out recently how to edit water into a map. Probably really simple...

I'm playing "catch-up" after playing UT2K4 for a long while (melee weaponry and an RPG mutator have me so addicted).
Now I've decided to get my hands dirty with the editor at this late stage, I have found lots of resources have been lost to...err
umm, I'll be diplomatic and call it a "Planetary" shift and children in the "Playround" not tidying up after creating a mess.

The "Wayback Machine" at the Web Archive has obviously been indispensable, as long as I have some documentation or URLs to start from.

One of the downloads available at utdatabase.99k.org saved me a lot of tutorial hunting. "The Complete Unreal Editor Reference Guide" is a huge collection in one CHM file.
Lots of useful tutorials in it from the legend "Gopostal" :tu:
Very very handy to have 1 file open with lots of info on different subjects.

Looking for an all-in one tutorial on the extra brush builders and editor addons now.
