Game randomly changing speeds
Game randomly changing speeds
So I just switched to OpenGL while following a tutorial on how to max out UT's graphics, and I must say it looks pretty damn good now.
Only one problem though, When I look away from something scenic and look at the ground my game speed doubles, but then returns to normal when I look at the scenic areas again.
I think it might have something to do with an option that I ticked in Advanced options...But I'm not sure.
Please help!
PS: I'm using Excessive Unreal 2's version of OpenGL

I've been playing UT for so long it's practically tradition.

Re: Game randomly changing speeds
What I used to do was add the entry Maxdesiredframerate=85 under the Mindesiredframerate=30 entry in the opengldrv section of the unrealtournament.ini, that worked for me!
Re: Game randomly changing speeds
I tried it but to no avail.
If anyone has any other theories/solutions feel free to say so.

Re: Game randomly changing speeds
It's probably because you're using a multi-core CPU.
There is a fix for that (2 of them actually), but I don't have the links of either one. If you search here or in google "UT multi-core fix" you should get what you want.

Did you limit your framerate?
It should read something like this:
[OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]
FrameRateLimit=62

Re: Game randomly changing speeds
lagging is something different than being by turns slow motion and fast forward in a fight.

Oh yeah, I get both of those man. :l
But hey, how about a game type that does exactly that... I think I have an idea.

Sometimes I have the same thing.
I playing with UT, later quit, playing again, later quit, and after when I start my UT XY time the game is sometimes have 2X speed or Slomo 0 and laggy.
Oh yes and don't talk about the sound scrunch... So after a time I need to restart my PC and everything good again.
