How to bind every weapon?

Post by Phuckphucker »

I got some issues since i reinstalled UT. Everybody knows there are a lot of different mods and mutatos like siege, monsterhunt, hook ...
My problem with that is that i never seem to get all my bindings work on every mod. Sometimes weaponbindings are lost or i have to use a numberskey instead because the weapon on the server is "slightly" different to the default one. Is there a way to fix it?

I just use the default settings because each weapon use a designed to use weapon # (not sure why some wouldn't be assigned?) Here is an example of my User.ini:

0=SwitchWeapon 10
1=SwitchWeapon 1
2=SwitchWeapon 2
3=SwitchWeapon 3
4=SwitchWeapon 4
5=SwitchWeapon 5
6=SwitchWeapon 6
7=SwitchWeapon 7
8=SwitchWeapon 8
9=SwitchWeapon 9

You can change that to NumPad#

NumPad0=SwitchWeapon 10
NumPad1=SwitchWeapon 1
NumPad2=SwitchWeapon 2
NumPad3=SwitchWeapon 3
NumPad4=SwitchWeapon 4
NumPad5=SwitchWeapon 5
NumPad6=SwitchWeapon 6
NumPad7=SwitchWeapon 7
NumPad8=SwitchWeapon 8
NumPad9=SwitchWeapon 9

Edit as you want. ;)
I also use WeaponSwitch Forward/Backward with my MouseWheelScroll up/down. It works, can be assigned via Keybinder Menu in the Menu's Preferences.
I usually don't use any specific keybind such as getweapon sniper|getweapon shock or whatever it is, cause not all kinds of weapons are named like that.

Oh... i guess you pointed me in the right direction. I guess i shouldn't bind the weapon itself but "switchweapon". Thank you i'll change that :D

Hi, nice to see this site still here 8)

After being unable to set weapon swtich keys to numbers in the in game interface I looked at User.ini and the correct "SwitchWeapon" commands are in there. I can set other keys in other sections in the in game controls menu. But the weapons section never accepts any number keys (1,2,3,4 ... along the top of the key board). But it does accept other keys like letters.

Any idea how to get my keybindings back ?

Delete user.ini and start UT game, it will make a new default user.ini... and rebuild the ini and then start the game to try again?

Otherwise, is your numpadlock is off? or on?

Post your [Engine.Input] section from your user.ini and let us take a look at it.
So long, and thanks for all the fish
