Server setup

Hi i'm tom, formally known as tom2 from VRN.

I have decided to set up a bt server but everytime i do something my server crashes, i have about 200 maps uploaded and another 700 to upload roughly.

I would have uploaded them but i want to know i can get this working before i waste my time.


If you need access to my FTP then i will do that, but it won't take me 3 minutes to re-install my server if you deliberatly try to f something up, so don't.

I would PREFERABLY like someone who knows about BT servers (setting up ect) as i need to learn. if you can't do that then maybe show me an example and where the files are ect.

Like mlds...no idea what i have to do in that, but whatever i do in it seems to break it so....please help

Would be eternally greatful and of course an admin place (on ASC) would be obviously given

Im just setting an 2k4 server atm and I would say that 900 maps at all would be bit too much in my opinion that would make the server lagg...
and if you upload maps its best way to do part for part and try every map if its working.
about redirect you know or? that relieves the server when people have to download the maps...

but what I need to know is what crashes when you want to do what? just when you upload files to server? or does the server just not run?

Thanks for replaying, the server isn't bad, i get about 9 ping on average (i am from britain so the london server helps)

Basically, the problem is mapvote, btplusplus097, ect ect, i have NO idea how to write linux in mlds.sh

And whenever i do the server crashes, also when i upload the BT mod and put it on, it just goes off when i restart the server.

Also map change isn't working when i try to force it in web admin, quite a mess tbh O.o

I am a newb at this right now.

The only server i've run is sa:mp (san andreas multiplayer) Trustt me it was easier.

I have ASC downloaded and passwords set up ect.

But i have no idea how to put it on.

Also is nextgen better? i mean, i am used to asc.

ok, i thought nexgen could be the reason for crashing (to much player slots)
U added the right lines for asc in your unrealtournament.ini?
