Well it seems to me I needed to gather more support for my questions and catches concerning ACE anti-cheat and this site seems to be the most active for UT99. Before you say check unrealadmin I have already posted there today but frankly I don't see getting an answer any time soon. Apparently AnthraX is really busy and doesn't have the time or maybe I didn't provide enough info and if that is the case I'm gonna put all info I have here in this thread. Anyways I just wanted to share some of my finding and maybe this will help others that host and play on ACE servers. So lets talk about ACE shall we.

I'm not gonna write a huge boring paragraph. Just need to get down to brass tacks.

I installed recently ACEv10e on hof sniper server and here are some interesting finding. Hope someone can chime in with some real answers.

I've been getting alot of logs from multiple clients lately getting kick for unknown file texture sizes.

After that map she left the game but clearly didn't give me much to go on but here was those file kicks.

Also the hof sniper server runs XC_GameEngine and after installing ACE I get this gpf and many different maps.
I sent this map CampOrRun to Nelsona to examine in the gpf image below.

Also that crash message is 100% useless.
I don't need the last 500 logs, i need the first 15.

Client garbage collector crashes are usually caused by references held in either Entry or Transient.
Big chance ACE is at fault here.

I decide to google CommandoSkins.utx 6448136 bytes and found a linux server discussion

Are Linux UT99 client files really that different from Windows UT99 files besides *.so's ? And does there exist a UT99 installation for windows client with these linux files floating around the net somewhere?

Elsewhere in that thread it discusses the Linux client incorrectly decompressing. That's my guess for the problem here. Still you can't let people play with unmatched files. The client will need to replace those files locally. AFAIK Linux doesn't use any different files than the so. I've had multiple servers on Linux machines and never seen this problem.

I'm now convinced there is a copy of UT or bootleg roaming around and I'm determined to find it.
That is way to many clients to have the same unknown textures to be honest. Smells very pupae if you ask me LOL.

After several days of hunting for some altered copy of UT99 which I sadly came up empty handed I went back to looking for these texture files. I finally gave up looking online. I sat down and thought about all the places that came up in google when I search for those texture files. The one url http://www.uttexture.com always failed to load. Then I got to thinking could these be s3tc textures. So I went and dug up my old UT99 v400 disc I bought in '99'. Put in the UT_CD2 and explore the textures directory. Low and behold there are those skin textures that ACE has been kicking multiple clients for. I was a bit upset at first that these skin textures were not white-listed but maybe Anth had his reasons. For me this is default content from 99 release and should have been included in the white-list. I will drop these files here so Anth or anybody else running the newer ACE builds can verify their legitimacy.

Hmm, I think these are those (do not add CD2) Hi-Res which are intended to improve client-side, I think I'll drop them in my client - I don't intend to step On-line for now - maybe later... I'm curious how do they look and if they do damage...

Edit: Nope they are't GOTY Cd2 but they do seem to work properly using SC3TClowend textures...

Edit: I can make a backup copy of the entire UT_CD2 Extras from '99' release if you like Nels.

Perhaps yes, because I don't have v400. I see these copies posted here are functional. Right now I don't have a clue why they are not white-listed...

If these files are acceptable to you, then why don't you build a whitelist? The latest version comes with an external whitelist?

I'm well aware I can whitelist whatever I want SAM but my concern was that it was original content and should have already been whitelisted.

With many client GPF's coming since adding ACEv10e and I'm on the bench at the moment whether to do more extensive testing or downgrade to an earlier ACE version. Like maybe testing without XCGE for starters but that is a hell mary since Higor's XCGE has made so many improvements which I doubt highly XCGE has anything to do with these client crashes. Also AnthraX has not responded to my last three PM's which makes me feel less likely to do more testing not to mention Higor doesn't respond to PM's either from me but whatever.

If someone doesn't reply to your pm's how much of an effort would you go forward with helping them. :nonono:

It might be nice if we had a spot where an amalgamated whitelist is kept so servers could just copy/paste it into their setups. It's pretty obvious that actual support for ACE is not going to happen so it's up to us insofar as we do what we can do. I don't have any webspace but would someone be willing to host a page for it? It would just need a copy-able whitelist and a way for people to submit their own to be added (and obviously curated). With the cobwebs getting thick at UnrealAdmin it's maybe time someone else step forward and offer whatever support for ACE that they can as an end user. If we had a "known admin" private forum again I'd be happy to post other private anticheat stuff I have or have made.

I suppose I could build an ACEfilelist.txt with additional entries thread so other server admins could like you said Kelly, "copy paste". Question is where would it be most beneficial to post these new entries UA or UT99?
