Kind of over due or late for that matter...but has anyone ever thought of a mutator/app that informs others that someone is playing?
So for example:
Player "A" joins or starts a game on his favorite server...players "B, C and D" that usually play on this server is informed/notified via text or PC.
That make sense at all?

Custom "buddy" systems arn't there as far as i know.
Been talked about for years.

Probably also not possible or a huge big time consuming project.

I was thinking a while ago about making something for nodestats that pings a server every x seconds and if a player has joined you get a notification, and if another player leaves you get another notification.

UniversalUnreal has such a feature. However, it's setup is based on a central web server where players register (and select buddies), and servers need to connect to that. It's more aimed at communities rather than complete UT.

There's the issue of identifiying players. For vanilla UT, you can only do that via their name. I believe writing a clientside mod which queries the masterserverlist and checks for these names should be doable..

This would be a great bot idea for Discord Servers. Basically it could spam a Channel whenever players join/leave a server
if someone would be able to set that up be Great!
could see it being quite a pop bot for other games as well.
maybe a reporter mutator which joins discord .. and sends info like scores and stuff..

I think Power (USA, plays BT) made an app that works with Android that you can do query check from the phone.
