UT99 - Wierd weapon mutator problem

Hello all,

I am having a wierd problem with weapon mutators in UT99 (432 and 436)...If I start a new multiplayer game add my mutators and just hit start (as opposed to dedicated) everything works fine. However if I run in dedicated server mode (which is what I want to do) then the weapons don't show up. The ammo is there...I can fire the weapon but can't see it on the ground or in my hand.

I have tried several mutators and all have the same symptoms.

A few I have tried:

ApplesBlossoMatic2
ApplesRebelMac
assaultrifle
BinSlayer

I have been all over the net trying to find anything that might help and have come up with nada. Please help!

A bit more detail....I downloaded these mutators from a random website in a zip file...inside the zip file there are 2 files...using blossomatic as an example:

ApplesBlossoMatic2Arena.int
ApplesBlossoMatic2.u

I copy both of those into the 'system' directory.

This is really all that I have done to this install of UT...no other mods or anything...just some new maps and a few weapon mutators...

Serverpackages=?

Did you add that to the ini?

dude! That was it! I knew it was going to be something stupid like that. :gj:

So for the server admin n00bs like me that read this down the line it's not literally Serverpackages=?

Using the applesblossomatic again as an example I put: ServerPackages=ApplesBlossoMatic2
in my UnrealTournament.ini in the [Engine.GameEngine] section.

I had that problem some time ago too, with the Chaos UT mutator.

So I checked out the ServerPackages and Chaos UT wasn't there of course, and that solved the problem.

But that applies only to mutators, as if you place the weapons directly on the map, that issue doesn't happen, trust me :wink: , at least on v436, I am not sure about earlier versions.

But still, when you open a server, fill the ServerPackages with all your custom stuff that your server will have :tu:

Your welcome bud!...Always glad to help out. I have alot of experience being an owner/operater of ut99 servers. When you get stuck just stop in here and one of us will help you out............ :mrgreen:
