Weapon variations
Hi all, just joined up and have a specific question about adding non-standard weapons to maps.
I'm slowly getting familiar with UnrealED, and notice lots of unusual weapons in the options. I'm specificall interested in the Crossbow, but can't find it. I gather it's in the ChaosUT mod, but I'm not sure how I get hold of that so that the Crossbox becomes available to add to custom maps. Is it easy and can someone help please?
Thanks.

Re: Weapon variations
If you have the ChaosUT mod you must open your Unrealed and then your actor class browser.
Now you click on "open". There you can see all .u-data files. Select all files which appear in the ChaosUT mod and open them. Now go on "inventory", next on "weapons" and there you can find the Crossbow (except there is an extra group for the ChaosUT mod). I think you know how to add an actor, don't you
? When you want to release the map, the file, where the Crossbow is, must be included.
I hope, I could answer your problem and you understood it

Re: Weapon variations
Thanks editor Dave, I knew it ought to be fairly easy, so I'll give it a go.

Re: Weapon variations
I've always found weapon mods get complicated coz people try to add heaps of extra poo to them and they get overloaded...
i always prefer the simple, original, weapons

About to be non-active
My very last UT map project: CTF-FacePalm (tropical CTF-Face remake)
Why do I leave? click here
What I want to do next: Joining an UDK team (uncertain however) and improve 3D modelling and texture editing skills
Thanks to those who visibly supported me until/at the end!

I've become a read fan of the combat deathmatch weapons, the game becomes a lot more tactical, especially if you ditch the translocator (running away sucks when your legs are shot up! )AliusShadow wrote:I've always found weapon mods get complicated coz people try to add heaps of extra poo to them and they get overloaded...
