I won't pretend to know more than Jack or likely his family, but I have been doing an inordinate amount of research into this. It is an awful situation, but things are not nearly so dire as they were even 10 years ago.

That is good info, and yet I shall not be doing any of that.

As far as I know Jack has been under medical care since his condition first showed up, and I would imagine (hope)
his doctors, (if they are competent and ethical), would be informing him regarding details about how much water to
drink etc. And probably have him on more pharmaceuticals than needed even if they ARE somewhat competent.....
(I have worked with many doctors in the past. Ran all the IT for a fairly large medical billing practice for 10 years. I know doctors.)

As you know there are many types of cancer. In Jacks case, he had no choice but to get medical treatment and
all the surgery etc.

I think he got his diagnosed about a year before me. Mine was a different sort.....

A birthmark that has been on my face, since birth..... Decided after 52 years to become a malignant melanoma and metastasize and
spread into a few adjacent lymph nodes.

After the surgery to have it, and part of my face removed. The only option the doctors give me is to have more
lymph nodes yanked out and tested. If they are positive, Clinical Trials is all they have next.

Fuck that. The 3rd leading cause of death in this country is medical mistakes, and they want to test unknown drugs
on me so they can track down all the horrible side effects? They can find another test subject.

Mine is either gonna get better on its own, or spread directly to brain, lungs or liver, with very very low odds if that happens.

I am gonna keep eating and coding until I can't do either.

Hope Jack does the same. I hope his doctors help him more than hurt him.

I can be the control group who does not get further treatment.

*I don't take any pills, and haven't for 20+ years. No aspirin, not cold meds, no vitamins. Nothing.
Took 1 codeine pill the day of my surgery. Made me feel sick. Poison.

2 or 3 beers, and a cheeseburger, are much better for you all around.

You know you have all been brainwashed?

*Edit: @ Carbon. You win the award for the post with a quote that has the most big, tricky, technical terms in it. :loool:
Not a slam on you, just the way those guys write stuff like that, makes me laugh.

Yeah, I do a few of the things mentioned. I eat a pretty high protein diet (as much as I can). I supplement very little though, it upsets my stomach but this may be due to the protein. I use MCT oil to make 'bulletproof coffee' but that's about it. I do smoke weed but not a bunch. I buy the very lowest THC strains but even those ruin me for the evening. MJ does help with the appetite. I researched the cancer endlessly but I don't read as much about the cachexia. It's all so damn depressing:
Cancer cachexia has been regarded as a non-curable disease...Currently all treatments for cancer cachexia are considered palliative...
It sucks to keep seeing that.

Anyway, that's life and that's why you have everything. I'm really positive and upbeat and I'm taking this thing head on but I'm also not a dummy. I know what's up.

@Lo- Just read your post as I tried to post mine. I completely get where you are coming from. We all just want control in the end even if that control is us saying "Fuck off" when the docs come with needles and hope. Part of me admires that ideal but it's not one that I think I share to be honest. Just make positive you are taking *your* right path.

@paper- I'm starting on the first tut now in FF section. When you are happy I'll move it out.

Very well put Jack.

I have been riding motorcycles without a helmet AND smoking cigarettes since I was 10 or 11 years old.
(And yet this birthmark is what got me first. All doctors have been looking at that closely since I was born....)

I know the downsides of both very well, and also continue to do both. The downsides are GREATLY exaggerated
to support the bogus reasons for insane taxes and insurance rates.

The ONLY insurance I have, is the minimum liability insurance on a Kawasaki 250 barely street legal dirt bike so
I can ride it without getting tickets. Insurance is a fucking scam. All of it.
(Which is the only vehicle I have atm that runs. My car is dead 6 months now. Got spare motorcycles in the garage.....)

Fuck that unconstitutional law. That was my opinion before I got my "pre-existing condition", and continues to be so.
Fuck anybody that says my "risky behavior" is gonna run up their insurance rates so we need more laws to stop that.

Darwin should handle all that, not the goddamned lawyers.

I mostly have paid off or settled all the fees for the treatments I did have, and will not run up any more bills.
Hope I die in my sleep or on my motorcycle before I become a burden on society.

I am very sure this is not the right path for most, but it is the right path for me.

*We are no longer Free or Brave.

**Edit:

Healthcare ain't being done right.
Insurance ain't being done right.
Govt. ain't being done right.
Discuss.

But none of it matters, as my opinion on anything is irrelevant.

/End Rant. (I feel better now....)

Back On Topic: Jack is still there. :tu:

Well, dang. What's wrong with me? :wth:

Of course you are getting the care you need and you sure don't need my uninformed 2 cents. Sorry guys for putting that stuff up here. Jack, you know well where my heart is at and Loathsome, now that I know about your history, you have my thoughts with you as well.

Hell no!

You misunderstood me just a hair there Carbon. By no means did I mean to dismiss your input or imply that you are misinformed....
My little rant there was not directed at you........ :what:

More info is always good info. (Or at least worth looking at... Yay Data!)

There is a very good possibility that my life experience is a statistical abnormality. (Or so it seems so far...)

If you got 2 more cents to pitch in, I would be glad to read and consider it.

**Edit: Goddamn it. Put back your original post.

You are NOT a fool.

(Perhaps we should all stick to discussing code and servers and maps ect..... But this is the Off-Topic section aint it? )

Thanks mate....I appreciate that.

However, I maintain that my post was a bit presumptuous; I will stick to moral support and leave the technical stuff to those who know best. Jack found that sentence in my link which I didn't know was there and to think I led him to feel anything but positive made me angry at myself. I was just upset at myself about myself.

I'll leave the other post cleaned, but without the self-flagellation. :)

Not at all Carbon. You of all people would have to do horrendous things for me to think even slightly poorly of you. I don't mind discussing things but I purposely avoid certain parts like you are talking about because I don't want to bring the vibe around here down. Trust me, I understand my reality very well and there is no reason not to be honest. You are always welcome to ask or discuss anything with me but that also is independent of me wanting to keep myself surrounded with positive energy. I tend not to dwell on the bad. Doesn't mean I don't know about it but I only need to read it once to get it. After that I will try to keep that stuff at a distance so I stay properly motivated and positive.

Don't you change a thing. You are golden my good friend.

About Lo....Look, this is a complex thing and it can be *super* hard to accept and deal with. There are times I need to vent too. Most times I try to be positive about it but there have been a couple of times I just wanted to fucking destroy things. I keep a whiffle ball bat (not sure if the Euro guys know those?) and I'll uncork that bad boy on an old couch when no one is around if it ever gets where I just need to blast something. The point is that people react emotionally so give Lo a bot of lead rope to let him run. I'm honored he feels safe enough around here to talk about his battle and his feelings. He obviously needs to do that so we should be supportive as long as it all remains appropriate.

Lo, you have my number. Call me if you need to. No judging, no bullshit, no agenda. I'll listen and trust me, I'll understand. You'll feel better. I turned my TS (71.11.73.50) on for this morning too. I'll be in there if you need to chat.

whiffle ball bat
Whiffle ball is called Brennball (burning ball) in Germany. It's very common as part of regular school-sport.

I got to sit down with Heston and Bob in TS this morning. It was good to talk to them. I value Heston's opinion on my posting of the 'Black Tuts' and he didn't feel like I was doing anything wrong. As long as the rest of you are OK with it, I'll keep going. I only have a couple more to do: how to log player keybinds and how to hide cheats/functions/Easter eggs in your map.

No PM, Jack, tut tut..
I did a quick read of his current predicament and its heart breaking to see him go thru all that. Hes a strong guy it seems and very intelligent. I will make a post to him there when I get a little more free time. Thanks for finding him for me!

Don't get angry ...I'm certain it wasn't meant in a disrespectful way.
And now fuck off. Don't you have better things to do, like getting healthier? At least try to punch this T-Rex in his nuts.
You posted this motivator, not me.

I wasn't even being disrespectful or being a dick. Idk why he took it the wrong way and say don't be a dick.
I don't even find his email on his profile page.

E-Mail can be found in stuff posted (if anyone wants to take a look). Writing an e-mail in a public forum is not the best ever thing.
And if I have a sudden recall about someone using MH2v3, right in that source-code is an e-mail address if I'm not mistaking...

Jack was nice as usual, else I'm not posting my e-mail because... I'm not nice... I'm perhaps old.
