More pci lanes are availeble then for nvme drives and sli for the videocards.
The pci express harddisk will be much faster then the now so called coffee lake platform.
Videocards will be faster and harddrives also.

Well i have myself a 3770 i7 from intel ,u have one number later.
Thye combining with the amount of pciexpress connections will be a huge different with the speed of pciexpress harddrives, i know they are still expencive.
The same they are doing with the upcoming playstaion 5 and xbox x series, they did intergrated the pciexpress on the motherboard and have a very fast harddrive installes on the pciexpres bus.
I think that i will buy a new computer this year and i will hope that the stores are open because of the corona virus. It will be a socket version 2 with a 8 series or a 9 processor serie from intel.
this new intel package comes with the 1600 lga socket on the motherboard.I dont know if those processors are soldered, nor with a click system mounted to the motherboard.
But where i,m waithing for is the new pciexpress videocards, they will have more bandwith and so theoretecly they must be faster then regular pciexpress 3.0.
rumors saying that this platform comes out this year.
depens also how much watt per core they use, and how much watt they use by for example a 6 or a 8 core processor.
On this watt per core intel wins it from amd.I can remember that the athlon also uses alot of wattages on the whole processor, the wattages on intel processors are a lot less.
And bether configured that way, aslo with the software they use.
