Blown away

Hi there!
I'm so blown away by the fact that a forum like this still exists! I never searched for it, but mainly because I had not believed it existed in the first place. UT99 was really the core of so many awesome years of my old gaming days and it's been such a long time since... (Getting sentimental)
After I found this I directly wanted to install the game with my old game CD and start playing again, but obviously my computer doesn't even have a CD ROM anymore nowerdays.
Before ordering a USB connected drive I quickly wanted to ask here if the have still runs on modern systems or does it require bigger adjustments to get it run?

I'm so excited :rock:

Hi there, and welcome back to UT99!

Short answer - Yes!
Also, yes, we have still a great online gaming community for this old great game!

Yes, UT99 runs great on new systems!
You will probably want to install some renderers also.

Oh also, there is a new patch 469 coming out soon which should be great for all of us!

I don't have the info at my fingertips nor the time at the moment, but rest assured it is all still good.
Later! :)

although UT99 is relatively populated you need to be aware that many servers have fakeplayers.
install this mod "XBrowser" and note the Red ! (Exclaimation Mark) on the far left of the Browser Window.
This indicates the real vs fake players on supposedly populated servers
also for latest renderers you could install these;
http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/utd3d9r13.zip ----> D3D9
http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/utglr37.zip ----> OPENGL
simply extract these files to your UnrealTournament/System Folder and select them through here;

These renderers work with all versions of ACE (Anticheat) there are others but you will be kicked from these servers using the Latest ones.

Aside from That you can also download the Demo and Patch it with the 436noDelta Patch incase of not having the CD.
https://www.fileplanet.com/archive/p-35 ... -v348-Full
https://www.moddb.com/games/unreal-tour ... s-no-delta
alternatively you can purchase via steam or Good old Games for about $4.00
https://www.gog.com/game/unreal_tournament_goty
also noticed that UT2k4 is on special for around $4.00 as well.
https://www.gog.com/game/unreal_tournament_2004_ece
as well as Unreal Gold;

Welcome Aboard.

It doesn't exist, none of this is real. You're just on the REALLY good drugs.

Thanks for the information! I'll check out all the server, patches and renderers as soon as I can!
What are fake players? Are they different from note?

I'm happy to hear you liked them. But the one you linked had a terrible performance back then. Maybe it works better nowerdays.

Get your original cd,s to a computer who has cd rom or dvd drive.
Download poweriso and make some iso files from you original ut99 disc.
Goto you own computer set poweriso to run a disc player drive.
Copy the iso file to a usb stick.
And then mount that drive to your iso file.
Now you can play your ut99 for ever from your copy of ut99.
Above me there are some tips and tricks to tweak your ut99 copy.
What i always use is opengl with the original textured files.
You must patch those files with the ut99 patcher also find above me Thats only for the goty edition wich i have those version has two cd rom discs.
Dont forget to install the directx files from microsoft.

Welcome back ut99 is still great and fun to play with. :gj:

It's working here, win7 pro 64 bit, I use the openGL driver some guy made the drivers and looks the best. Easy to find them online.

Welcome! It works fine - a nice, immersive 'real world' map. Perhaps you would like to point us in the direction of your other maps?
