The tenth generation of intel processors are already in the stores and webshops, they clamed to be faster then the 8 th and 9 th processor family.
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en ... brief.html
The so called new platform comes ofcourse also with a new motherboard with a LGA 1200 socket.
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en ... l#@Desktop
The new platform has sadly the older pciexpress 3.0 interface but the newer platform wich will come next year will have pciepress 4.0.Wich means the videcards and m2 ssd harddrives will be faster and must have a newer controller on those videocards.i Bought myself lately a coffee lake motherboard with processors specs:moterboard from asus atx,i5 processor with 6 cores and 8gb memmory from kingston.Lately i bought a m2 harddrive.its a so called flash drive who is connected to the pciexpress wich windows 10 boot very fast.
The new 10 th series comes also with thunderbolt connection just like apple computers have.
The new rocket lake platform will be released in the first quarter of 2021, i think that that platform will be released with thunderbolt and pciexpress 4.0.
Amd has already released the pciexpress 4.0 hardware on the motherboards they was first released.
So the vodeocards will be updated and the ssd m2 drives will be updated also to pciexpress 4.0. for intel motherboards. They released this a litle later then amd.
ITS A DOUBLE POST PLEASE DELETE THAT OTHER ONE ADMIN!

Re: 10 generation
The benchmark sounds funny. It lists the Intel GPU used in the Intel parts of the benchmark, but not the one in the AMD equivalent. Lots of slack that could have been quietly exploited to inflate their numbers -- or conversely, to deflate their opponent's.
"Everyone is an idea man. Everybody thinks they have a revolutionary new game concept that no one else has ever thought of. Having cool ideas will rarely get you anywhere in the games industry. You have to be able to implement your ideas or provide some useful skill. Never join a project whose idea man or leader has no obvious development skills. Never join a project that only has a web designer. You have your own ideas. Focus on them carefully and in small chunks and you will be able to develop cool projects."

Re: 10 generation
What's missing are the detail of certain they are they are still hacked under certain of names or not like wannacry and such.
I don't understand the hype of a new hardware when we really don't know what it is tested against and such when the Intel team doesn't seem to release that info, cuz corporate want the $$$.

WannaCry was caused due to a vulnerability in the SMB (Samba) sharing protocol on MS, not hardware related.Chamberly wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 2:14 pm What's missing are the detail of certain they are they are still hacked under certain of names or not like wannacry and such.

It was an amazing time on the TransIP VPS back then lol, luckily i had backups.
Seeing all blanc *.cry files all at the sudden and a screen that demanded bitcoins xD
But true about $$$, it's like nvidia, bringing out new models allday that slightly perform even less/better.

Thats the chicken and a egg problem. Its like this way you are going for a new computer with all the new hardware you wish.RocketJedi wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 4:10 pmhard to beat AMD right now. If they keep it up when I build my new PC next year that's the route i'm going
The next year intel comes with a new platform with faster memmory and a newly product version of the hardware.
New computers goes around lets say 7 years before they are very slow and not from this time anymore.
If you go on the expencive hedt platform you are encured for 10 or 12 years but cost triple the money on that pc you wanna buy in the first place.
Conclusion:They come out with new hardware to fast for us.But amd is on a good track right now.
You are always behind with the upgraded hardware, and that they are doing that on purpes.
They wanna make fast money in a short period of time. And we are all the victims of there own succes.
The marketing of intel is working at full force now ,thats whi amd is so good these last years.

Re: 10 generation
I would like to agree, but I m still running an old i7 4790k which still very very fast. Maybe 10% slower than new machines not worth upgrading yet. This CPU was released in 2012 which is almost 9 years old. So I get plenty of life from my CPU'srjmno1 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:42 pmThats the chicken and a egg problem. Its like this way you are going for a new computer with all the new hardware you wish.RocketJedi wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 4:10 pmhard to beat AMD right now. Go big and configure a proper system, and you will get 10 years out of it.
Go cheap and you have to upgrade every 3 years.
