Re: windows 11
I wish I was still on Windows Vista. It was W7 without the bloat and much closer to XP without being as clunky.
Now I'm on W10 and life is but an endless oscillation between suffering and boredom.

I still use for both work and fun Win7 Pro and I (really) prefer it over Vista, no way.
Years ago, I had to install it (32bit version) also on my old laptop in order to play ut99 because WinXP + Centrino = no ut99 (cpu clock problems).
Unfortunately, soon or later, I'll have to move to Win10 but I don't know what to expect from it

Still on win7 pro. and have Vista on the other drive, both 64 bit. I had to buy Vista Biz to get win7 pro for free.
I don't own or need a cell phone, but after using my sisters for a few times, NOW I see how windows 10 stupid buttons work and where they came from. Those little slide switches that you are not sure if they are on or off.
So win10 is probably easier to use for people who have been using cell phones, cuz that is all win10 is, a cell phone,
As for that bSod screen,
The best clever virus I ever seen was it covered your screen with a bSod screen, like a wallpaper just a bitmap, and then when you reboot is when it loads the virus.

Re: windows 11
Microsoft has really messed up with many of its "experiments". Windows 8 and later 10 was the result of trying to compete with android. They came up with this Windows Phone crap. My brother had one of those, and it was junk.
They tried to make the PC like the Windows Phone, with those awful tiles.
Microsoft was also mostly responsible for "consolizing" the first person shooter.
Making it slower and "gamepad friendly". But that is another topic. (Yes, some of you are going to go "Hey Goldeneye, hey Perfect Dark"...no, it was Microsoft, and it was Halo, that was the true beginning...)

Meenwhile i did installed windows 10 again becouse win 11 was a beta version.
When you install windows 11 you must have tpm2.0 installed on the bios.
You must have eufi boot and secure boot enabled in the bios.Otherwise win 11 wont install

win81 is like 7 folks, with the right tweaks, visually
ClassicShell > telemetry disabled etc.
Aaaand, security updates till 2024
With some hacks you are even able to play dx12 games on 8.1.

Re: windows 11
All of the main computers in my house are updated to Windows 11, aside from my Father-in-Law's desktop which I fear may be incompatible even with the uefi/tpm2 requirements patched out. Wife, Mom, myself - Win11 everywhere.
We ain't complaining.

Re: windows 11
i bet not alot of folks know that since win10 you aren't downloading your updates from MS anymore.
Instead they are being send through peer 2 peer, yes, like torrents, getting them from your neighbour.
You sharing yours by default, influencing your upload connection.
https://www.itproportal.com/news/how-to ... onnection/
Luckily you can disable such things, as well as all the keylogging/data gathering that's going on.
Downside is every new build-update they're enabled again, and you have to re-disable them.
It became a very nasty OS where of course the consumer became the product.

If only the Linux community wasn't so elitist and fragmented, and were more helpful rather than "figure it out yourself" and "my distro has a bigger bone than yours"...
