How is the drive attached? USB? Does it make noises when switched on? I had a regular drive die on me, but with those programs that save the data or restore, etc etc, I could see one big chunk like a HUGE zip file that the program did to save it, and that was my total UT directory, all there but there was no way to open such a large zip. pure agony.
