Well, we DO HAVE internet in our house but something was wrong with my PC so we then brought the PC to a guy that fixes them. He took 6 months to 'fix' it and I STILL CAN'T have internet! Damn, what was he doing for 6 MONTHS!?

...this is a split-up of a necro-bumped thread of the "who are you" section. Normally I close such nonsense... but there evolved a nice discussion about where all the new ones come from. So I'd kept the discussion but closed the necro bumped thread.

That's why I think people need to learn to fix them, and it isn't that hard (unless it's a laptop, which is kinda tricky and if something is off can be fatal for the machine), you just need to be careful where you touch and how you (dis)assemble it. Any tech should be able to fix a PC within a few minutes/hours (or a few days at max if there are many left to repair). I mean, my younger brother just learned how to do it and fixed a bunch of them in a hour as a *trainee*, so basically put, you were scammed.
