Well, for you maybe it's the best to reinstall the complete stuff.
Thanks!
I decided to re-install because there were so many program left-overs (useless programs plus poorly uninstalled program files etc.) I though I might return to the good old days
EDIT: Temporary setback :( . No product key. Luckily, the Windows cd is my grandma's, so maybe there's still hope :D
EDIT2: Ehh... It seems that my cousin probably has the key. This may (again) take a while :( .

A bit late, but "PC Wizard" can show you your XP key.
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/pc-wizard.html

There is a tool for changing XP keys, but it will not work with SP3 :(
If you install with a working key but want a different one, it is a good option.

Don't worry your D: partition is safe :tu:
Thankfully it was partitioned.

When you get XP installed...
INSTALL THE RECOVERY CONSOLE !! (a complete install of MSDOS)
put this in the run box, or a DOS/CMD console window.
E:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons
(assuming your optical drive is "E:\")
You can read about it in the Windows help.

If you do not get a legal key installed, then you can get all the windows updates installed (plus extras), by using Autopatcher
http://www.autopatcher.com

There are a few other bits on my site
http://my.opera.com/dr-flay/blog/os
including a patch to allow DirectX 10 on XP (has issues)

Thanks doc!
1 final (I hope) question:
How can I activate windows? I tried the internet way but (still) no connection and the other way is to get an activation key by phone. Any other way (cuz right now I'm only allowed 30 days of xp usage).
P.S. UT and all of its files are here (YAY!) But it's missing d3dx9_40.dll, any way to get around this?

I always avoid activating Windows, but then again Pro doesn't need to.

On my page there is a link to the AntiWPA forum :tu:

The "mother-of-all-tweakers" X-Teq Setup, has a registry tweak to allow access to updates without registering.
http://www.x-setup.net

You are missing the dll because you need to update DirectX. (It is included in the Autopatcher updater)
If you visit the Micro$oft site with a browser that is NOT IE, it will allow you to just download what you want, without installing "WGA".
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... aspx?id=35

Also when installing individual M$ addons/updates, if you disconnect from the net, it cannot verify your Windows, but will install after failing to connect.
Or you can install using a DOS window or batch file, with "/quiet" command.
e.g. WindowsDefender.msi /quiet
This is how Autopatcher installs everything, so you don't have to keep clicking on "yes I agree to the terms" for everything 8)
