Yeah, you're right, didn't read it right, I must be really tired....
Anyway, reinstall, the best thing to do now.

Take a look at this: Image

This screenshot was taken in a window.

The text re-appears when the gave is at low res and in a window it seems... but the only issue I have with playing in a window is the game keeps speeding up and slowing down. Not lag...but ludicrous framerate possibly. :?

That's because you have a multicore processor most likely.

There are plenty of solutions, just search "UT multicore fix" or "UT dualcore fix" here in the forum.

So... The Duelcore is the reason why my fonts went missing in the first place?

No, dual core processors only influence the speed of the game.

Well In that case I might as well admit my game's buggered.

It had a good run, I'll be OK starting again. http://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/c ... aunt05.wav

I got UT Working again!

I had to switch my graphics card.

But now everything is see through, EG: The I.R.P.R's hand model in NW3 is in FRONT of the weapon.

As you can tell i'm using the built in graphics card.

Surely there is another way I can make UT look good again...

Have you tried changing your renderer?

Apparently, like always we have to guess which renderer is being used.

Have you tried configuring your current renderer ?
Use the updated replacement renderers listed in the tweaks section.
http://www.ut99.org/viewforum.php?f=6
Stick to D3D9 for ATI and intel graphics chips.

In future please attach your UT config ini file, if you don't know what you are using.

Yeah. I use D3D but that takes me back to square one.

I'll try some stuff out and tell you if I get anything.

------------------------------------------------------------

SUCCESS!

OpenGL has revived UT for me!

Only now I can't adjust the brightness... and the transparency is very low...like a mask...

Who cares? I'm just happy I've got it working again.

I'll get outta your hair now. Thanks for everything!

UTNerd24 out..............................[?]for now...[/?]

The new D3D9 and OpenGL renderers are not the same as D3D and OpenGL supplied with UT.
Are you saying you are now using the OpenGL that came with UT ?

If so, please visit the tweaks thread and replace your renderers with new ones.

It turns out all this time my graphics card needed tweaking.

:ironic2:

Problem solved. No need to continue. DONE.
