Opinions?

Post by Carbon »

Hi folks!

I recently found an online shopping site here in Korea that has hundreds of old games for the PC. Well, I decided to just buy a whole bunch of them (they were pretty darn cheap; the most expensive was $15). Now I have this stack of games but am not sure if they are really worth having.

Some of them I know to be of value on the market so I bought multiple copies. Anyhow, check the list and let me know how I did! I spent about $235 for them all. [= number of copies] All are brand new except the PC magazine items, which came from a...well, a PC magazine. They are all in perfect condition though.

Total nostalgia! I think I am going through a mild mid-life crisis here!

Anyhow, I bought doubles or even triples of some titles I though would sell well on ebay/amazon. If not today then certainly if I am patient!

The compilation CDs are pretty cool to have....lots of old demos which, although many are abandonware or, in the case of the Fallout Arena demo, are free to download, still neat having them. The Diablo demo is cool. Never did play Oddworld.

My next mission is Grim Fandango boxed new! That and new boxed versions of Forsaken, Deus Ex, Hitman, Planescape Torment...on and on.... :D

Sin? That was a cool game, although it was a tad... glitchy, with the black ops still trying to kill you even when their already dead. (Machine gun spasm, i guess :D )

But hell, Jagged Alliance? I tried it last year, and thought it was boring since I didn't know what to do.

Marathon 2 : Durandal... Well, I do recall having it on my MAC. But GOD was it a good game! I even had a total conversion of it for UT. Good times.

And Virtua Fighter.. Well, I've tried to get it to run recently, but I can't seem to get it to work. I remember the good old days when I smashed that last opponent to hell like three times a day. Anyone know how to get it running on Windows XP SP2?
Image This is Eevee, a ferocious creature that never relents in tracking its meal. It will lead you to ruin, and when it does, it will finish you.
The way it bobs its head lefty-righty? It's just cracking it's neck so it can get a better grip on you with its jaws.
