Miami Vice is a true legend, I still watch sometimes the TV serie, it reminds me the good old days in the 80s. I think it was one of the best TV serie of all times because of its superb soundtracks (it's nice to play GTA Vice City to re-experience that atmosphere).
About the 80s, I want to suggest 2 songs by Roxy Music (1982), "Avalon" and "True to life", the older guys in this forum, maybe, will remember...
