You are ... "some" years too late. You can not bring the clock to a standstill, the modding community moves merciless ahead, much quicker as it seems as some years ago.

beyondunreal.com. I would directly ask Wormbo there, I think he is the only survivor there, literally as it seems!
However keep in mind: UT2004 is SERIOUSLY dead. If you want to mod for ut2004, if you want release something or if you have any questions: You are going to fight a losing battle.
Maybe you`ll find some other remaining modders somewhere else on the internet, this might end up in nit-picking through.
Although UT2004 survived longer than UT3 did, people are either modding these days for UT1 (weak PC/notalgia/don`t want or can not mod for anything else) or moved to UDK, Cryengine SDK or simply other games (better/current graphics, the desire for progressing with skills and possibilities)... or simply stopped modding (no time/family).

To put it in a nutshell: Either you stick with UT1 or you`re doing a big jump to UDK and co (or of course you take something completly different). You won`t be able to strike a balance.
About to be non-active
My very last UT map project: CTF-FacePalm (tropical CTF-Face remake)
Why do I leave? click here
What I want to do next: Joining an UDK team (uncertain however) and improve 3D modelling and texture editing skills
Thanks to those who visibly supported me until/at the end!
My reactivated account on indiedb.com.

Sad but true...
I still play UT2k4, but there are much less server running and populated then in UT99 ...and most of them are only Onslaught on the map Torlan.

Yes I know Im too late, lol
Im sadly to read this UT2K4 is dead, but how active the online gaming? This thing what I really want to know
When Im take a look for the UT99 Servers all the time a few hundred players playing, Im interested how many players playing with UT2K4 or with UT3
Just hope more player playing with UT99 than UT2K4 & with UT3
This understood things, anyway thats same for the Hungarian UT99 Community
Everyone has got family or bored the game bla bla bla what you say, but all the same
Im think I stay in UT99 online gaming and mapping, maybe when I have free place in a new HDD install UT2K3, UT2K4, & UT3
I tuned whit maps, mods, skins, etc just for fun offline gaming

Unfortunately there are 2 problems with UT2004, stemming from 1 problem;
The owner of the game (legal or cracked).

Many people don't realise their cracked copy or key, will not let them connect to the servers. (idiots)
Many people don't realise they have to wait for a while until the master-server responds with the list. (total idiots)
Either way, they quickly swap over to botmatch mode, and never visit a forum to find out what the problem is. (total, double-idiots)

The most common question you will see in the chat is "How do I play" or "where are the games" etc.
I tell them to wait. It usually fills the server list if they chat for a while.
You can see how many players are connected if you join the chat room with a normal IRC program.
There are plenty joining all the time, but most just never wait long enough.
When someone like me is brave, or bored enough, we sit in the IRC and catch these new players and tell them to wait.
Then more people are online playing (hooray!)

I have a section of 2K4 resources at "Your Unreal" http://my.opera.com/Unreal-Tournament/blog/ut2004
This also has links to find you more servers.

There is some activity at Beyond Unreal, but it is mostly populated by people who don't play Unreal games (complete morons)
Join the EPIC games forums. It is moderated better.

If you watch my news-feed page, you can see lots of modding and mapping for 2K4 (more than UT99)

Hermskii's house is one of the last-bastions of Chaos. He runs Chaos for UT99 and 2K4.
