I actively play BLR (Blacklight Retribution) for little over a year. That game is just awesome, although they had some server problems lately.

I already have 2 max level accounts lol (one in Europe servers and another in US).
But it's also a bit pushy, but not as pushy as PS2.
One of the main mechanics of the game is the fact that it has a built-in legal wall-hack, called HRV (and before anyone rushes into conclusions, everyone can use it, and it's pretty balanced (active only for a few seconds, with a long cool down and you can't fire while using it), to not mention that it avoids camping and keeps the pacing of the game up).

^yerp i was 2gig into 8gig download when i read that.. and stopped / closed as soon as reading ferali's post lol.

Am going to try FarCry3 instead and this blacklight.

Our ut99 host is closing us down and theres no other descent host down here for a reasonable price so . Maybe give it a break for a while.

I still have it installed though. The developers said to most users to come back within some months as the game would be faster and more enjoyable... so I did, and several months after I first tried, it's still the same sh*t lol
I am probably going to uninstall it for good very soon.

In BLR you also have a zombie gametype, is pretty fun, and very hard on the higher difficulties (just in case you end up prefer coop).

co-op/monster hunt never really been my cup-of-t tbh.

Then you're going to love BLR. Even in team games half of the people just DM (me included when we start loosing badly).
They have the following gametypes: DM (Death Match), TDM (Team Death Match), LMS (Last Man Standing), LTS (Last Team Standing), S&D (Search and Destroy), CTF (Capture The Flag), DOM (Domination), KOTH (King of The Hill), KC (Kill Confirmed), NetWar (a mix of DOM with CTF)Siege (not UT-like Siege, you basically have to escort a tank and the other team has to stop it), ONS (Onslaught - it's what they call to the coop zombies gametype).
Not sure if I forgot any, but they have plenty of gametypes, and all are rather enjoyable to play.
