Or he just mean something like this:

Image

A connecting room where connecting every UT player and players can talk with a new chat mutator. Everyone can see it or private messages, etc.
And in this is room where you can see the other servers so easily can connecting with somebody and playing.
I would make a Banned/Cheaters Server where only this peoples can play. After if hes forfeit done, can connect again to the Connectong Room.
Just for only one reason why this would be really good, peoples can find more new mates/friends and maybe the UT Community would be more stronger.
Hope I'm clear and you guys can understand what I really mean with this.

I may understand this all wrong in the first place, but as I see it, the way EPIC has chosen to release the Uengine4 without their own title in the Unreal series is the same as saying that the series will no longer be continued? So what this is basicly all about is just an idea for a "gamestyle" right? or mayby wrong?.....

Anyway. The initial idea is killing the UT series on concept as it is. But hey, I make mods with balloons and RPG too? but yes - they are mods!! not a total game. So, to turn our belowed game into a MMORPG game is IMO a no-go, it simply wouldn't be a candidate for the unreal series period. But as a gamestyle - knock yourself out! But instead of just bringing the idea to the table and have someone else do the work (very hard Work!!) - learn to code and do it yourself :tu: Because if any of us should pick up any crazy idea that is brought here we would simply not have enough time available. This is ut99.org as in WE LOVE UT99!!

@asyle *that has been attempted on ut99 through the use of portal maps kelly made one mentioned recently..
basically you would have a dedicated server setup with a huge airport like arena where players can join and interact with each other . then after meeting several other Fragaderes you can dance off happily through a gateway/door and be connected to a server in cyberspace and play along happily

this was not easy in UT I think... actually the tricky part was retrieving the info from connected servers ie; players , scores ,timelimits , ping etc... so that players could see visually info on said servers b4 proceeding through the gateway.

You could use Screens to do that. It works in updated Unreal servers.

If you guys remember the MH-MHMVillage map it had a ton of things for people to do. I attached an entire community of houses and playgrounds to DeadCity trying to make a social-style map. It was played a lot but just by the core MHM guys (long gone now I guess). I released how to create a map separation that mappers can use to split a map into public and private, how to lock up your individual houses or apartments, and effectively create a 'neighborhood' of sorts. The takeaway for me is that people who gravitate towards UT don't want or care for that stuff. All I saw was pub players trying every trick in the book to burglarize the houses and access the private sections. Even the MHM members themselves would try it when no one else was around to see it.

The players who would be attracted to a social game and/or construction-type are few and far between. Many, many more are interested in destroying whatever is done rather than participating. Well, I guess that is participating in a way, just badly.

My vision is simply a world of warcraft, or an everquest, clone using UT99 game dynamics and skins and feel.
