Hey guys, My name is Terry Wilson, I'm the News Director over on 3DBuzz.
I thought I would bring this contest to your attention, We at 3DBuzz feel that the modding community has REALLY taken a downward plunge since the days of UT99. So, we decided to do something about it.
3DBuzz, in conjunction with EPIC games, have started up an "Old School" UT3 contest. This contest simply put, Levels the playing field for ALL entrants. Regardless of the skill you have at using the UE3 engine, You have a shot at this.
I will say this, You guys have an advantage, simply because all of the judges in this contest, (Especially Myself and Jhawk from 3DBuzz) are HARDCORE UT99 fans. I can't think of anything better than playing a DM on good old Phobos, or playing a CTF map in Diamondsword. We have a mission, we want the community to be as active as it was back in the day, we want a central area for all things Unreal, regardless of year. We are DETERMINED to get it going.
IF you guys are interested in this, I have an official press release, You'll get it before EPIC releases it on Friday.
Here are the prizes:

Grand Prize Winner:
- $1000 cash prize
- PlayStation 3 game console (or $500 cash)

Well, thanks for the info. Unfortunately I won't enter the contest. And I don't want to argue about these kinds of stuff.

Same here, and I don't like modding/mapping for cash. The "pay" is giving to me by the community really enjoying my mods/mapsShadow wrote:Again UEngine 3.. no thanks

Umm... nope. Mapping for already dead games is a waste of time...
