I came to know that one side of the building base got eroded away and it fall on that side in Shanghai. Maybe, it was a similar case......

Simple, there are several types of contructions (concrete, steel, etc), and each one requires one specific explosive, in specific spots and detonated at specific times. It just takes one of these 3 factors to fail, to have the entire demolition also fail.
Btw, this building was very old, so in a very good construction this would be normal to happen.
For those who don't know, concrete takes years to fully get hard/dry/solid, so newer buildings will collapse easier than older ones that have their concrete fully solid, and in the case of a good base and good building, I personally prefer to live in an older building.

No wonder, they started to make the underground garage AFTER they built the building structure! They should first build the damn garage and the base structure of the building, and then build the rest on top. I always saw builders do this that way, and guess what, no problems like this ever happenned, it's a normal order of work.
Also, no experience bad paid foreign workers gets this effect, I mean, they have no knowledge on building, the communication isn't as easy and lead very often to misinterpretation, and they receive a very little amount of money at the end of the month.
Those guys should start learning first by being simple servents (cleaning up, get the tools and materials to the actual experienced builders, etc), and then after that learning they should be builders as well, not the other way around. That's why this is no surprise for me. :nonono:
