Re: The AWESOME Mapping Contest - PARTICIPANTS VOTE!!

Post by editor Dave »

I will vote for the following maps, according to the suggested terms of appreciation, but also favoring generally good maps that have a little extra.
4 Points for the absolute best map.
Spoiler
DM-AMC-Gluon by Revelation – it’s the best map if you consider every aspect, in my opinion. The skybox and the extra scripting deserve the meaning of “awesome” as “extraordinary” and honestly, I’ve probably never had this much fun with a DM map (in a while at least).
3 Points for the great map.
Spoiler
DM-AMC-Modular by Krull0r – for the “awesome” concept alone it deserves this spot. Even though I wasn’t too fond of the gameplay, I think it does serve a niche place for pro players trying to advance their craft on a challenging playground.
2 Points for the map they liked.
Spoiler
CTF-AMC-BigAndUglyUTR by FraGnBraG – This map also surprises with an “awesome” concept, a CTF on speed. Besides that, all the possibilities to find the perfect path according to the situation prevent any sense of staleness occurring too soon.
1 Point for the map they think is OK.
Spoiler
AMC Map Pack by ExpEM – apart from CalderaCrust, this pack offers two nice little maps which are easy to learn and to enjoy. Especially EdificeDrift convinced me with a pretty interesting layout to play around with.
For further information, check my whole review. I will finish the remaining maps tomorrow, right now I’m too tired to think of the right amount of words for the last four maps (all of them are already reviewed, but the length isn’t on par with the rest) - also proof-reading and screenshots. I just wanted to show you I wasn't being lazy in the last few days.

I think it's no big deal if they tie. They both obviously deserve the win and they are friends so there won't be any animosity between them. If it ends like this then let it stand. After all the next closest map has half the votes so it's not close.
So long, and thanks for all the fish

You're maybe right. Both maps deserve it.

I do! :)

2 winners is no problem as long as they are fine with Korean edition big boxed editions.

I am going away for the month of January though. I am leaving on the 1st until Feb. 5th, so the mailing will have to happen after I get back. Sorry about this guys. Unstoppable.

I already sent you a polished version, but may want to tweak a couple things further if there's still time. How long are you waiting?
