If you can bring up the mapvote, others can too.
Tip: when testing stuff in your server, use a clean version of UT, without your own ini's.
This way its really effective testing, and you can assume other players will face the same as you.

You did not set up a redirect yet.
People won't join the server simply because of the slow downloads.

I have a prety fast connection like 6mb\sec.
I will make only a mapvote for the costum maps wich are withing ut 99 for testing purpose.
I f i know howto to handle and edit all that stuff i will add some costum maps also.
meanwhile google is mine friend to get this all to work.
IO did updated to version 451 and add mapvote2.3 as a mutator already.
If it runs good i will add all of the costum maps to the server.
question:How about the highend textures?I did installed them?
Must i add s3tc textures or leave them just like after a install from fresh cd?

My tip is: don't mess with them.
You will not get the result that you are looking for.
When you install HD textures on your server, that does not mean other players can see those.
If you do replace default texture files, you can throw your server in the bin, and start over again ;)

If you want HD textures, put them in your own UT folder.. and not the server.

This might get you up to speed a little bit with server and general knowledge of how the game works.
Another tip: still set up a redirect, you wont see any traffic until you do.
You won't upload a 8mb file with 1mb per sec to a client without it ;)

And oh yeah, MAKE BACKUPS of everything!

3 backups most efficient, one inhouse, one burried in the yard (in case of housefire) and one with a partner/friend. ;-)

I'm going to redo evrything install ut99 again with s3tc stock textures.
Update the server to 451 and go take a look at that other section you posted.
Maby i can add them to the microsoft cloud from within windows 10.
Add self-made maps in what section must i edit that?
first thing todo tomorow is setting up some stuff for community made maps.
But first thing first setting up the mapvote 3.2 that was made by people on this forum.
The only problem that I have is that we edit what in settings on file. But I want Google for that.
Tomorow i'm gonna tryout some stuffy and starting from scratch to set up this server or mine.with costum maps vote menu.
To make a fresh clean install for the server setup. :thuup:
I think i,m busy the whole day tomorow and indeed i must backup to extern harddrive otherwise i must install everything from scratch so i,m longer busy then normal without the backups you are right.

Do you know how much that cost?
A private server cost 500,- euro a month with 2 times 450 gb space.
If you wanna host alone the monster hunt maps is not so cheap and something for miljonairs.
I will take a look for some free backup cloud elsewhere, i,m not going to pay money for a hobby called unreal tournament 99.
I just searching right now for a free service for uploading self made maps.

Webhosting 50 GB for 60 bucks a year. Enough for a redirect.

You can use your own computer as redirect.
My server acts as redirect as well.
As long as you have a http file server environment (safely) configured.
You can't put a onedrive/gdrive link at RedirectURL..

Things will get difficult for you, but I really recommend you to read below links very carefully, it's all in there.

A complete (virtual) root server does not cost even an Euro per day (example for 5 EUR/Month). You can run the UT server on it as well as a web server for redirect. Average linux knowledge is needed of course for a linux root server. Or use a virtual Windows (10 €/Month).

There is not any S3TC texture for servers, just original textures. Those S3TC textures "for servers" are just stock textures and nothing else... Because some of those making servers which are using that 90 MB server version as base with place-holder files not real UT files - cheap hacks for saving space (files having a few kilobytes) and they are causing only pain...
Samples of what I do NOT Recommend as servers - I don't get why are even hosted/saved in 2019 :noidea :
- http://medor.no-ip.org/index.php?dir=En ... ws-451.zip - 90.7 MB
- http://medor.no-ip.org/index.php?dir=En ... 6final.zip - 90.1 MB
Files in these servers are far from being original files, also they have no tweaks from any kind - in 2019 we are saving logs for debugging.
In the past time I used
http://medor.no-ip.org/index.php?dir=En ... dition.zip
as base or this one
http://medor.no-ip.org/index.php?dir=En ... ion_V3.zip
If you are not using a redirect, even with 1 GB connection downloading files will be slow. First I would read some manuals about doing servers, else all those are experiments not servers. You will want a small Web-Server if you have net resources for hosting redirect files.

Nowadays for building a server from root I would use the same BaiterV3 polished and loaded with XC_Engine and my default starters and some MapVote a bit revised...:
- changing "Credits.utx" file with mismatch-free one;
- tweaking Core.int file if needed;
- setting up start map and required actors;
- changing run-line parameters - more to talk here about rented servers;
- installing XC_Engine - manually;
- adjusting settings for XC_Engine;
- for a monster/bot usage server, main stock files are replaced with patched versions, else I wish you luck with any install/reinstall X times the same bugs.

When i,m done you just dont have to download files from mine server ofcourse then everything will be stock.But with mapvote installed.
I just wanna cycle all the maps who are in the goty edition of ut99.
I was wrong about you you know stuff mine apology for the last post with you i was wrong.
Maby a very strange question where can i download the xc_engine for ut?
Gonna remove the former ut99 install with highend textures and install ut99 again with version 451 patch fro server first.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
portforwarding already done.
-------------------------------------------
edited more master servers to the client list now more then 400 server the browser see.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OpenGL and all that render stuff are pointless in Dedicated servers based on UCC.EXE program - Windows in stage. Server won't render anything unless you want a Non-Dedicated Server hosted directly by a "master-player" which is authoritative in the same time. A Dedicated Server won't render anything because only player can See what's going on in game, server is only managing game.
