Spammer checking and reporting

Post by Dr.Flay »

If you have a site or blog with comments, or are admin of any site or forum, you NEED this tool.

There is a very useful tool called “Forum Spam List Checker” made by "Gunner" a moderator of the site "StopForumSpam", which can check the details of any suspect users in many blacklist sites.
(Due to the amount of blacklists it references it is useful for more than just forums.)
To get the most from it you will need to get free API keys for some of the services

Instructions https://www.gunnerinc.com/fslc.htm
Download https://www.gunnerinc.com/fslc/fslc328.zip (65 KB)
Support https://www.stopforumspam.com/forum/vie ... hp?id=5399

There is an open sourced v4 beta but it is not as functional.

Great to hear. If you have the option to bolt SFS into your site then you can pretty much rely on that.
When using the tool you tend to see spammers show more hits in SFS than the others, but when it is a brand new spammer it can be helpful to cast a wide net.

Note:
The tool will only submit reports to StopForumSpam and BotScout, but they are the most useful.
When going to a relevant SFS page from it, it adds an extra www which has to be removed.
