How old were you when Unreal Tournament came out?

The original Unreal Tournament was released towards the end of 1999, in November for the USA and most other places by December.

I was 29 at the time.

I was 10.
At that time I didn't even know what a computer was, not even a gaming console.

Only when I went to the electronic school (around 10th grade, so when I was around 16) was when I had my first real contact with a computer, and also where I was introduced to this game, and when I also made my first baby steps in designing and programming overall, both for the game and other things.

They were also the ones who offered me my first real computer (at the time even rent, food and the basics were barely affordable, so there was no way to have my own PC), and the friends I made there lasted forever, and this game back then was one of the things that made us grow closer over the course of the 3 years we were in that school, since it was THE game that we always played there, in LAN against each others, whenever we had the opportunity. Some of my best memories were from that time.

Age 11.

I know the game from school around 2004.
We only played instagib on DM-Turbine, and i thought nothing else existed in the whole game.
The LAN server on the school was on this map only on repeat, with instagib, and i joined the LAN server and that was all.

I've played the game 5 times each month max around that time.
Around 2006 i was like, i got to install this game at home!

I was amazed when i was seeing the ServerBrowser the first time..
Seeing all these names, gametypes, maps and everything and couldn't wait to check it all out.
It was then when i was introduced to other maps, weapons, and elements that are not on DM-Turbine lol.
I was most amazed by MonsterHunt and the awesome maps for it and the unreal type environments.
Back then i was mostly active on BeyondUnreal Forums.

I did not even know Unreal, i found about that later in 2007ish i believe.
It's funny, i came from DOS games like the Keen series, later on Windows Doom and DukeNukem.
Quake and Unreal and even UT99 never passed by my screen before 2004 on school.

Nowadays i mostly know all elements from the game itself, and still being amazed by new stuff! (PSX project for example)
Roots will always stay to instagib, and the fast paced gameplay.
Trying to find some time to dive into compiling, and reading uscript.

When UT was released I was still a weee little baaaby at the age of 3 , shame that I didnt even know about this game until like 2009 or something.

well the goty edition came out in 2000.So i,m about 29 years old when i become to play ut99.
After a while i did bought ut2003 and ut 2004 also.
before that i did plat the ut99 demo version 348.
After a while i did bought unreal 1 also.
It was on the news on dutch television, they clamed that ut99 was the first game wich came out with internet acces so that the players can be playing to eachother.
