Part of why I'm delayed on certain projects is I rarely work only 1 thing at a time. Kinda scatterbrained like that, which is why I'm lagging on 7 different skinning projects at the moment (only 3 of them are my own) and I'm actively making edits to about 40 different maps. Bopping back and forth to each project, doing a little here and there, until finally stuff gets done.

As I've mentioned prior, here and there, I found a large number of maps by a "mapper" who calls himself (admittedly gender assuming there) Pornstar. The maps are quality pieces but he splashed porn over all of them, and not with any rhyme or reason. Sometimes only a little, sometimes he practically paved nearly every surface with porn. Now, don't get me wrong... I love porn, but in mapping it should make sense where it's placed and none of it existed with his maps. Moreso after I recognized a couple maps and noted they weren't all made by the same mapper.

It seems Pornstar took maps from other mappers, erased all of their information from the maps so it's nearly impossible to identify (and I've been looking) who made the original maps.

So, I've been censoring them as best I can. In some places replacing textures, in others black-boxing the naughty bits. Hasn't been as easy as I initially planned because on some maps he built structures for some of the porn to be placed on and if I remove that it destabilizes the map and causes BSP-Hell.

My original plan was to censor/fix them all and then re-release them in a map pack... but as stated above, I get a wee bit scatter-brained on this kinda stuff.

This is a tightly packed arena sized map, lots of places to duck and cover, a few places to get stuck in with no way out until somebody kills you. Barney (named for silly reasons) is a SkaarjBerserker firing deadly razor-blades all over.

My initial experience with ut99 (been playing it since it was first released) largely involved a mutator called Monster Madness which I loved as it put monsters into the game that could score and potentially win; MonsterHunt didn't exist yet at that point. Which is why I enjoy GorGor's Unreal Tournament Deathmatch Monster (UTDM) creations as they're kinda sorta big bots in monster form and can win games if you're not careful...

...and I've largely been using my fixes/censors of Pornstar's edits to give the Unreal Tournament Deathmatch SkaarjBerserker a place to roam.

I know who is behind this alias and I also played all those maps on his server when it was online. The maps where ment for that one server only and only left that server to become downloaded on file hosting service hosted by a person who took no honor in preserving ut99 he just gathered everything in a million different versions that causes mismatches and many mods where broken as in never finished but still he put them up for grabs. Now you do the exact same thing these maps are each and everyone available in their own perfect original shape without any pornography of any kind. why do you want to remove the porn from all of them and maybe release them for download when they are already out there for grabs in their original form? Please set quality over quantity, lack of quality is what kills a game and heavy quantity of crap is killing it thats why those maps where only ment to be played on that one server and never spread in the community but like always the community never respect a server admins wishes in those regards.

If you know the names of the original maps, perhaps you could provide a list of them (as it seems most are not easily identifiable)?

It was many years ago so I cant remember what the original maps where named even though I played a lot of them in their original form. I do know that most if not all came from nalicity so if you know someone who has a backup of that site they are not lost but yes scattered among hundreds maybe even thousands of other DM maps so very hard to find indeed. I cannot help you as I have no acces to any great map library I just use the current available libraries with sadly thousands of useless crap maps to clutter the search for any decent map - if you dont know exactly what you look for.

That said if anyone is up for making something like nalicity again with individual upload and aproval from moderators including rankings/reviews from registered users i will volunteer to assist but I have not the time to do it myself alone.

1) I'm not doing the same thing, I am a crediting whore... I'm very keen on crediting the work of other mappers and when I release a map I've edited I credit everyone I know who worked on it; if not in the description then in the view on the selection window we all see in-game.

Pornstar removed all the info of who actually made the maps, and replaced it with himself...as if to say he's the only person who had anything to do with their creation. That is not cool!

2) I want to remove the porn both because not all who play UT are adults and that's not something some little kids need to see... and I've been unable to find the original maps so I don't know for sure that downloads of the originals are out there. This way someone might find these fixed/censored versions and enjoy them without dealing with PS's porn-spam.

As stated, I've been trying to find who originally made the maps so I can credit them for their work... on the selection window at the very least.

I find this sort of map interesting for proper pathing out of useless spam navigation actors. There are ledges, boxes and all that sort of challenging spots but... indeed battle here is very intensive, Bots are not having too much time for items unless are miss-balanced in skill.
I think I can have a clean map (UTDMS for me it's not usable stuff) will all porn trails deleted at once with fake author...

In other hand if it will show some BSP issues, those cannot be solved because... it's empty - brushes have been stripped out - except red builder which is there for no reason, lol.
I think this one pathed better can be subject for public gaming - without "embedded creatures".

It does seem to pick up and use weapons sometimes, but not very often, which is odd as the code should prevent that?

Err? Not sure what to say about that other than duh? But the UTDM SkaarjBerserker isn't a UTDMWarlord! Looks like whoever did the SB just copied the code wholesale without even reading through it?!!.

Yeah, the UTDMS picks up weapons and uses them, but not very well and annoyingly they don't appear to be holding them. They can be firing the minigun while holding completely still, if not for the noise and damage from the bullets you wouldn't know it by how the Skaarj is standing.

On the plus side, it can also pick up health when its hurt and power up items. Picks up and uses armor and shields fine... but when it picks up invisibility it doesn't actually turn invisible.

Lemme bump the ball here.

Code is wrong as long as it's a COPY PASTE duplicating variables like "Team" which is already embedded in ScriptedPawn - I don't know how UT is addressing it then..., using similar named mutators and making a soup when these are combined and I expect even messing with messaging. This is not how do things should work. But... because today I dropped an eye at that "Berserker", allow me to introduce some stuff which I'll use as longs as I got tired of those "skins" looking like a carpet after fighting with wild dogs. UTDMSkaarjBerserker package which I will use into my CTF trash box will have a bit more wrapping:

Inspired from their muscles which I see on their legs - go get them, boys.
Not forgetting about projectiles which are changed. Original projectiles are not really killing a Skaarj, but DAmmo2 class should be good... damage, range, a bit of speed, net codes, all battling needs... This is not exactly a MonsterHunt thingy but I think CTFGame has "Players".
