Re: -= The UT99.org 2021 Mapping Contest =-
I am still developing my new FX package for the map I am going to make, and thus far I have been wasting more time doing FX experiments like this:
than to actually advance the FX package meaningfully.
Well... I did already pretty much completed 50% of the new dynamic coronas system, and it has been fairly tested and such, so there's that.
But the time for experimentation is mostly over, and I have set the end of this month as the deadline to complete this new package, and I already wrote a roadmap for myself with most of the features planned, in order to start the actual map in October.
Although I am already having more fun with this little package than I imagine myself to actually have doing the map itself (almost makes me want to go beyond that and do something else more elaborated), but scope creep is the biggest enemy of deadlines, so I will leave all the remaining ideas I have or might have for another time (maybe another package, or maybe as part of a whole mod, I don't know...).

Please tell me you'll have Santa Claus and his sleigh circling the play area.

If there's some bots running around and an occasional regular weapon, I can pop it in the rotation (mostly an offline kind of guy tbh). Looking pretty good so far though Tater.
And GenMoKai, cant wait to try out your layout. Nice sun light

Ok now, I am asking this for a friend (seriously ), he would please like to know if there will be a list with the names of the participants posted somewhere.

@Feraldragon - Wow, and I thought disco was dead. All you need is a mirror ball. That's wild!
@Genmokai - Looking like a nice close quarters DM to me. Impact hammer here I come! The multi level is awesome looking.
@Tater - Is that one of those maps where everything is gigantic like land of the lost? That office chair is cool! Who doesn't like a good camp and snipe map?
You guys all have nice ideas going. I wish I could come up with a solid direction, but I'll just keep plugging along, something will come eventually.
I like the screenshots everyone. Great start and loads of creativity here.

It's a map where everything is big, yes. The picture that shows the PC chair has a cage in it. You would be big enough to fit inside of it.TexasGtar wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 8:16 pm @Feraldragon - Wow, and I thought disco was dead. All you need is a mirror ball. That's wild!

Very clean looking build Pikko. Nice.

Okay, I didn't get much progress this week with the hurricane clean up going on but I did get a few things done.
Going to post my new textures image too. Not sure if I am going to use them or not.
And a new screenshot of the map so far. I do have an idea finally, but not sure how to make it work yet. Need some planning but I think I can pull it off.

Interesting sketch . Noob question : What are the arrows for? ( and please only answer if it is not confidential).

Judging from the second screenshot, the arrows seem to be the direction the player is meant to take to traverse those areas (the direction of the steps).
