Installing windows 11:

1/Make sure you have tpm 2.0 enabled in bios
2/make sure you have a eufi drive enabled in your bios
3/Make sure you have secure boot enabled in your bios
4/make sure you have at least 4 gb of ram.

I have windows 11 installed again i'm just i curious about the final release.
The final step you have to made is the folowing, with in mind you have a bios who support tpm 2.0 and alow you to boot from eufi device.
Your harddrive is still formatted as master boot records ,mbr.
You must convert your drive to gpt otherwise windows 11 wont install.
There is a program in dos who can do it, called mbr2gpt.
You type in dos windows executed as administrator.
type the folowing in your dosbox:mbr2gpt /convert /allowfullos.
Then your hardrive is installed as gpt wich alows much higher drives then mbr wich supporting much more disk space then mbr.
When you have done this you can install windows 11 deleting all drives in the setup of windows 11.
When your done with the then you make a new drive from the deleted ones.Dont worry windows 11 will install on the new drive.

When you are done with it windows is installed on your tpg drive, and secure boot is enabled now you mus set it in the bios also.
When you are all done with this you finaly can install windows on your new gpt formated drive.
Format your drive as regular ntfs within the windows installation.

example here.

And why does it matter whether it's official or not? The stuff works, thank heavens for that. Coz on one laptop of my Mom's, I needed to bypass that requirement.

That way, all hardware in the house has the current, latest OS. Easier to troubleshoot, if you ask me...

I have to admit that Windows 11 really surprises the hell out of me. Runs many legacy games like UT and UT2k4 flawlessly. It definately has more of a Linux/Unix feel to it now, with Mac intergrations. TBH I wish Microsoft would have thought of this years ago.

The systems requirements are much to high for this new windows 11.
I,m glad you solved the problem with those new settings. And way of installing.
@nemesisness you can also set the start button on the left side just like windows 7,8 and 8.1 and windows 10.
And indeed in the middle it's just like macos, and apple computers.
well ut99 runs very good on this new windows 11.

@rjmno1 Yeah, UT99 GOTY runs so flawlessly it's actually scary as hell. The system requirements are kind of out there for Win11, but I thankfully have a descent laptop that can handle things smoothly. What I was especially surprised at was the fact that with this version versus others, is that Linux can run without having to have a separate partition. Check link below for more details if you guys are interested in Linux. Anyway, it's been seven years since I was able to play on any computer more over my laptop... long story, but I highly reccomend to anyone who wishes to have a copy of it installed on their PC's and laptops make sure you get it from Microsoft and not some third party. Especially if you're into developing games or websites.

That's great news!
UT2K4 is one of those old games that runs like crap on W10.
Now, I wonder whether W11 will be able to run really old games like Aliens vs Predator 2 and Blood 2: The Chosen without any issues.

Technically speaking I am using games from GOG's which have been a blessing. You should be able to run any game, might have to change settings and ini files here and there.

Have you tried using UT2004's UnrealEd 3.0 on Windows 10? Oh God please have mercy on me and just hit me with lightning.

@rjmno1 Congrats, and yeah there are a ton of differences that GOG made so things can run smoothly. And with the guide to do some minor tweeking here and there, is also a major help. I honestly have been procrastinating about getting 469b only because I'm running some mods that will sadly only run up until 450. Hopefully I can fix that when I have some more time. Been messing about with Unreal Engine, C++, Python and tweeking UT99 to just the way I had it 7-8 years ago XD
