How to write [i] literally?

Post by Barbie »

How can I write for example MasterServer[i] without the code tags? If I do so italic font is switched on because of the [i]. Using "Disable BBCode" for the complete text is not an option. [\i] does not work. Yes, I could use "j" instead of "i" but that's not an answer to my question.

You can't, just like you can't write <i> in HTML without writing it as &lt;i&gt; or wrapping it in a <pre> block, the same way you'd have to write it in an [inlinecode] block here.

Unfortunately the forum also escapes HTML encoded characters like &#91; and &#93;, so you can't use those here either.

It is a normal "i" but with a soft hyphen in front.

Also possible would be a zero-width space in front or behind.
