AttachMover only spins tagged Decoration in XY axis

Post by lafoxxx »

When placed vertically (like wall clock), the wheel spins and the dude (UTJDancingDoll) doesn't.
If I place them horizontally (like table) and change rotation axis for the wheel they both spin.
Why?

Need to achieve this effect:

My first assumption would be the mass and or effects of gravity, if that is a pawn, it won't just move like a decoration.
I say that with keeping in mind a pawn can Fall, and splat, and also you can jump or stand on a rotating mover and be moved.

Maybe change the physics and settings of the pawn, if you mess it up then it will screw with the animation of the pawn.
Try a really heavy mass and a light mass (below 50) and see what happens, I don't know, just guessing.
And make sure the pivot of the mover is in the center.

Thanks for the reply!

Not a Pawn (Actor/Decoration/UTJDanceDoll).
Physics PHYS_None, Mass=0
Mover pivot at center, Decoration not sure (but it doesn't change when I move it anyway).

Maybe try Doll.SetBase(AttachMover0). And offering a test map may convince reader to do their own tries. :D

Thanks!
I found simpler solution:

Movement/Physics: PHYS_Rotating
And duplicate rotation parameters to the Decoration

Now all works as intended.

I just checked and it isn't. Editor just didn't unload scripts from the last opened map (which I used as a reference). Anyway, for my task built-in "Carcass" works just fine.

If you use this online it could have replication issues, the wheel and doll could desync. Are you thinking of putting it into a map?
So long, and thanks for all the fish

Yea.
By the way just tested and there don't seem to be any issues. Besides, this is not really critical if it will work or not (it's just decoration).
