Map idea Hypercube

Post by Baardman »

Is this possible with the rgb changing colors in ever changing patterns giving of a sort of hallucinating effect. To have that in a map? With animated textures? Or with scripts? I remember UT 3 had a disco map

animated textures are completely possible, but you must know what you want to achieve... if you want to just walk around inside the cube, it is pretty easy since you will be making a map, but if you want to make a window through which you can see the cube, it will become pretty hard

If you can simulate 3D using green non collision brushes to move through.
As in a bunch of flat frames to low grav through.
It could simulate the effect for UT
Not to "play" but to FEEL the place you are IN.
Seems to me rather than looking at thing from math and graphics, to a 3D place to be in as perspective, to the eye. like drawing a 3D perspective of a country road or house. (Escher)

Then add the translucent things with moving patters of a lot of flat brushes with square outline brushes, it's all fake 3D, more or less.

Funnily enough, there's a UT2003-UT2004 map called Hypercube, but it's more inspired by the Cube sequel... scratch that, it outright adapts it. It has a prequel by a different author, adapting the original Cube.
