Would you be okay with me looking through the map in the editor for inspiration? (And are the custom scripts used okay to use if I give credit?)
Thanks. :) :tu:

For the custom scripts, you'd best ask Aspide, since it's his.

Feel free to look through the map but if you wish to use anything as-is, be sure to credit either myself (BSP, lighting, non-PK-textures), or the key [core] textures (Philip Klevstav; his own ones are much higher resolution and with much higher detail than the ones I compiled),. though I did moderately alter some of his to fit the map's specific needs, so I get that might not be so easy. If in doubt, ask me or look on the PK_Tech_Set.utx package I compiled using some of Philip K's textures.

If it's only pure inspiration you're after, then yeah, just think, conjure, test, experiment and enjoy the process. :)

I'd be interested to see what you produce; if you need help, ask me or Aspide. :highfive:

Oh, I was under the distinct impression most UT99 players these days preferred box maps [over decent, well-made maps] you know, crummy maps made with a 20min build time and a 'shooting fish in a barrel' mentality behind the half-hearted, lazy designs.

I won't be making new maps; there's just not enough demand and let's face it, there are a HUGE number of very well made, eye-candy maps that repeatedly go unplayed. Go download a dozen great looking maps and enjoy those,. but play mine first. :P

Wahaha... You have no idea how much I feel this. It has always been the case too. I remember when I was a kid "Godz" maps used to be all the rage.
Big empty boxes with tons of monsters haphazardly placed. Probably the most popular maps out there!
I remember being friends with a guy called "Saltypepper" who tried to make a map that looked okay while still fitting the idea, but it never caught on
It's like the eyecandy actively detracted from the experience for the people who liked those kinds of maps! :loool:

You can be proud of having made a work of art though! and people who appreciate and play those do exist!

(Not that I am saying my maps are "very well made, eye-candy maps", just that they go unplayed) :loool:
Time is the only form of currency that you spend without knowing your balance. Use it wisely.
