Skating on hosted game

Hi guys,

I just aquired a new hosted game. I had a bit of trouble setting up mapvoteLA13 in command line but with good efforts from the host we got it.

Problem is bots skate on server. I know its not my machine don't see it anywhere else.

Their version of UT99 had a 436 UT patch only I had it upgraded to 451b being windows based. Skating is still there. Being a hosted game not sure what to do to fix it. I think the hosted game is the 436final server version upgrade to 451b now.

Any clue as to how I can fix the skating issue?

Try replacing all the default textures with the ones from UT install CD #1.
Leave all the custom utx files alone, but overwrite any default ones.

I believe that issue occurs when the server has the STC3 textures on it.

Yes, some of these so-called hosts install the STC3 textures for some unknown reason.
Servers should Never have those installed on them!
STC3 textures are a Client side install only as the server does Not send textures to the client in game.
And that is a good thing as a lot of us do not wish to use them.

Oh, and you shouldn't use the Start Up Command Line to start your server with all the mods and settings.
In a nut shell...
Use the stock Start Up Command line. (basic start up)
Then use the small mod ActorCLP to do your initial server set up.
Then have MapVote start your mods and settings.
