I'm just getting this set up to try, thought I'd share a link.

It does fairly good job, but I think latest OpenGL renderers perform better in terms of image quality and range of options.

Yeah this is true Raynor, I was rather surprised to see how limited the tweaks are. Although it did have a few I liked; auto FOV, bump mapping, and unlimited view distance. Just out of curiosity I was looking into any graphic upgrades there have been to Deus EX and ran into this. I have tried the OpenGL renderer that you had suggested before, performs better certainly. With this DX10 renderer fully cranked the game gets a bit jittery. LOD Bias at -10 looks good, grinds a bit though. Then again, it was at 1280X1024 with the highest res texture pack available. I suppose there's a bit more wiggle room. The one thing on my wish list though would be an overhaul of the weapon models. It seems to be the one thing lacking no matter how many other tweaks and upgrades I do. Is there something along that line I don't know about?

edit to add more-
Raynor, I messed about with the openGL renderer, I preferred that one over DX9 after you had suggested it to me. I just hadn't ran it fully cranked. Yeah you're right, it runs like a greased hog compared to DX10. I suppose there's a few details you'll inevitably not pay attention to when playing. OpenGL at LOD bias -10 runs at around 90 fps solid. No wavering at all. Even with 32 bots, 4 team domination in a wee little map. Still want weapon models....and better blood splatters after seeing what the latest OpenGL can do.

I once tried to make HD retextures of the weapons. But the task was so hard and I had so little free time that I abandoned it. I may bet back to it someday, along with also giving the models a smoother look.

synaesthetic, why do you run LODBias at 10..? :o Even at setting 2...3 textures will become really grainy and distracting.

I didn't keep it that way, just poking around. I leave it a 0 normally.
