Crap, that's what I get for trying to post after a night of drinking. LOL

Yes I was thinking of Internet bandwidth. Sure, no problem! I got that covered!! Haha!

I believe I've posted the email on this forum before? Either way, Smirftsch got the same answer from Epic as I did. They "don't have the bandwidth".

So? Show me. Without any valid sources - which I doubt you have - this statement is meaningless. The osx port e.g is forbidden because epic itself would need a licence or something like that.

You are a joker and WHICH of that stuff is supposed to be tell me that you guys are supposed to know something what I dont know through my connections with the oldunreal development team?
"We dont have the bandwidth for" does not mean a NO, so far its just a "no comment/leave us alone with that". Everytime Smirf contacted them - also about unreal 1 upgrades - they replied (nearly) the same.

Well, the difference is, as I have already an NDA it doesn't require much from them to allow me a new patch.
So the idea that that they maybe reconsider (or are willing to spend some "bandwidth" for me), if 227g becomes a success ain't that bad- at least the chances are not as small as for someone who doesn't have the sources already. Sure, no big chance, but not hopeless.

For the ones who might wonder again: The work of a release suitable Patch is already finished since 10. Febr.
So almost for a month. If Epic mean to play the bad guys they just wont reply and thats it. New appeared bugs still get fixed by this chance. So both "waiting for a reply of epic" and bugfixing run parallel.

I don't see why they could'nt release a patch to keep the game alive. i mean in terms of bandwidth there really isn't that many people playing the game anymore and the patch could easily be dispersed through fileplanet or any number of other file-share portals about the web... and they could even draw in a bit of income from the likes of Good Old Games to get a little bit of money back into the kitty..

sorry if Iam off the beaten track here altogether.. I would be kean if there was an upgrade.

Lets hope that they find the time to release something soon :)

It's not about internet bandwidth. Another bureaucratic subterfuge, read it: "we have no time for you, maybe later".

epic Iam sure have no plans to go backwards nor listen to us veterans stuck in the 90's with our 'Game of the decade' Idea's and revival attempts.

Smirftsch already told: we have hope with 227g release.

Nothing to say, just wait.

227g is a patch for Unreal, not UT. Seems it is allowed to release. Epic HAVE to pay attention to this, and maybe situation with UT patch will be changed.

No. Because it was asked about a UT permission in the e-mails to Epic as well.
