Kelly (aka JackGriffin, aka gopostal) has now posted a link to his Vast UT File Dump!
Posted at our *** UT99 FILE EXCHANGE *** Section at HUTP.

Per Kelly...
"I have over 20GB of raw UT Files accumulated over time from a great variety of UT sites.
I have currently uploading about 11GB of (very) various UT files and have posted a link over at HUTP.
This UT File Dump is now Public, for everyone."
(Maps will be uploaded to this File Dump later)

Please READ what Kelly Posted about the UT File Dump at these links below!!!

Why do you complain about something so trivial when Kelly did all this for all of us?
This is merely a simple small rule or guideline that keeps the link integrity for YOU - that is all it is. Sheesh!
It should not be too hard to understand why. 8)
Do what you wish with the link, but if it changes or goes sour, don't cry to us about it. :tu:
And, talk about a lot of rules... http://www.unrealkillers.com/showthread ... MLSG-Rules

It's a nice thing he did, no doubt, but I don't got 20 GB to spare. Personally I think this might've worked better if along with the massive DL he included a separate option, for something akin to a categorized DL that tells you what's in it.

It'd be nice to see what's there. Hell, why not make an entirely new UT site with menus a sections where people can view individual models and skins and mutators and whatnot? Most everybody complains that most of the old UT sites that were great once upon a time are gone now.

Why not make a new one?

EG, it isn't set up as one big DL.
The files are separated into File type folders and they are single file downloads that you can pick and choose one at a time.
They are in lists and you just click on the files to download each one individually.
It would take a massive amount of time and effort to write up descriptions of each file, etc.
He just posted it so people can go through the files and pick ones they can look at and take what they want. :tu:
Maps should be set up soon also, as they are not yet dumped.

Edit: nevermind I guess gopostal has left this site and gone to the dark side. What a shame. Can you reactivate my account over at Hook's if possible

Gopostal is .... a little bit strange (to put it mildly). His first account "gopostal" has been removed (on his very own request) by shade years ago.
I don`t know the reasons (anymore). Then he returned as "JackGriffin" and if I remember correctly this is already at least the second time where his account has been "deactivated" on his request, once again. I wonder if he sees this forum as some kind of drug, since he is most likely more of a UT nerd then most of us combined. But this is only a guess! Don`t think too hard about that, I don`t think there is any particular reason.
About to be non-active
My very last UT map project: CTF-FacePalm (tropical CTF-Face remake)
Why do I leave? click here
What I want to do next: Joining an UDK team (uncertain however) and improve 3D modelling and texture editing skills
Thanks to those who visibly supported me until/at the end!
My reactivated account on indiedb.com.

MLSG is a competitive league. Like any other league in the world, they have a bunch of rules designed to create an even, fair play ground. Not really a good analogy at all.

I only mentioned a "rule" about the link because it seemed a little odd to restrict backlinking :s of course at your request. Anyway, the link shouldn't change if you enable dyndns (if served from a dynamic IP) or if the url is kept alive....no argument really not meaning to pick, just sayin'

I've had countless conversations with Gopostal on TeamSpeak3 and he is generally a nice fella but yes he is a bit strange at times. Gopo had some health concerns he wasn't really aware of till a few years ago which he has come to terms with and undoubtedly has affected his social interaction for years before with the UT community. In my honest opinion I think Gopostal feels very strongly about the way he sees things and if you dont exactly agree with his view then this strikes a nerve. Gopo would rather just leave a forum or community than make a fuss these days. I see this behavior as a self preservation on not only Gopos part but with whichever community he's involved with at the time. Gopo clearly has much to give in regards to UT and its a shame to me he cant comfortably fit in because I know he really wants too.

This is clearly only my opinion concerning Gopostal because I'm no doctor or psychiatrist. So dont take my views as facts but just as my own observations.

I wouldn't worry about the tiny archive files. I have many ZIPs and RARs that are under 2k. They are usually mutators or fixes.

Kelly/Gopostal/..., under any his names, is one of the longest serving and all-round knowledgeable UT professors.
I chose the word Professor rather than boffin or geek, as his need to share and teach, is as great as his desire to learn and collect, and generally "roll-up his sleeves and get his hands dirty".

As another massive collection from a long-term collector, this should be full of plenty of old treasure.

billybill wrote:You are right, there is far more content than what he had posted. This has to be one of the most heavily modded games out there!

However it looks like a lot of the archives are corrupt or incomplete, and if people are going to take their site down thinking it is all backed up they could be in for a surprise

I don't see how 40gb could be a problem and would recommend a seedbox, something like http://whatbox.ca/plans/heat for a couple months. That should be enough bandwidth from my estimates. And I strongly urge that you select all archives and right click extract, you will find a LOT of files there that need re-downloading, I have no idea how you could've messed this up so bad. If it was from a recovered hard drive you will find text files recover far better than archives so you might want to go through those projects you didn't want to release after all [before you delete them]

P.S. Hook I asked a couple years ago for my account to be deactivated. Would I have to register again or can it be re-activated

Edit--------------

I have better things to do than link to each individual file but I used a couple different formats in the hope it helps you do something about the corruption
