Dynamic Water

Hi,
I was cleaning my pc folders and I found this component buried in a bunch of ut99 files (as always happens :lol2:), Dynamic Water for Unreal and UT
maybe someone can use it for his mapping works...

WOW looks amazing... Real waves animation and still feels like old good ut water ) ut2k3 water is similar animated but looks terrible :twisted:

Holy-crapola !
How did I not spot that ?

His UEd brush-builders are posted on my resource page.
I must have been suffering tunnel-vision, as I was only hunting Brush-builders.

Oh yeah that's why.
His site does not show many of the files stored there. Just a few (nice) maps.

From somewhere do I know this video ...we have had this discussion very long ago.
Something was not right with this animated water sheets.
But I can't find the thread nor do I remember what again it was.

sorry for zombie post (u know what i mean 2013-17) but this could replace all liquids from any maps? i mean someone could create a mutator that replace all water zones with this dynamic one? ..............or its only for mappers?

I don't remember now but I think this could replace all liquids in maps, it's better you try with editor (the .zip package contains also a test map)

This animated water is a mesh and therefore do you have to put it into your map as a ...well, mapper. As far as I remember.

From what I've seen not the water zone itself is changed - the portal sheet building the water surface is invisible, and some up and down bobbing meshes are added at the surface location. Because there are a hand full of different Actors (BigWaves, BMedium, BRapid, SmallWaves, ...) that differs in magnitude and animation speed of waves, it would be impossible for an automated process to decide what kind of wave would fit into that environment.

Cough at "some problems"...
For preventing other external file, I have imported this cute toy in MyLevel and I was using it over some Lava, I did not see any issue... neither in Editor and neither in game, perhaps "problems" are coming from jealousy about such design. This is probably a sort of must have in small maps with a few liquid spots :|. Also it looks like another good thing which community was doing for UT...
