The real reason the Titanic sunk!

Do you search a certain mutator, mod, skin, map, everything else?

who knows :)
http://www.aim-it.de/pages/coolmaps.htm

after looking at the screenshoot (at the bottom of the page), I think this is the original TO map, called TO-X-Titanic.
this map is part of the AIM-IT Xmas Mappack for TO, which contains 2 mutators (including TOMA, TO Monster Attack...oh no, again monsters :lol2:) and 20 maps (wow, they look pretty good !)
if you want to play it, you should have the TO mod and the map pack itself installed on your UT99...

billybill wrote:Anyone know where I can get tools to convert such maps to UT
do you mean converting TO maps to UT99 DM maps ?

So the thief has been revealed :P and all too easy with TO/UT similarities. I never called TO a UT mod because it's really big and I've never seen them both on one installation. If you had UT installed and you tried to join a TO server I can't see it downloading everything and connecting, even when the versions both have the same number it's going to take forever

They share the same query server which is odd for an independent game. Too bad I didn't find SirBlurko's CTF-Italy remake of counterstrike map in that map pack too hehehe

And yes I did mean even engine-to-engine map converters, I am sure I have heard of them. I mean, there's all the duke nukem 3d maps in UT as well as many of the Quake multiplayer ones. There are either huge fanboys or maybe they started from a halfway point

But TO is a UT mod ...it started as one. :???: ...I have still one version on my external HDD implemented in my very first UT install.

Did I get you wrong?

Yes, you're right, TO is an UT mod (only some years later it was published as retail standalone game based on Unreal Engine) but it's often considered a "total conversion" which uses the engine to convert UT99 into another game (Infiltration is another famous example of total conversion of UT99).

Well, this is an interesting argument.
As far as I know, there aren't map converters that can convert map formats directly to other formats, from a game to another one.
Anyway the conversion procedure is more easy if you want to convert maps from TO to UT99 (and viceversa) because both games use the same engine and share the same 3D format/package architecture. After talking with a few guys, I've understood that the first step is all about removing specific actors from the TO map, then you can save it and reopen in UEd 2.0 (if you want you can retexture the map saving the textures in MyLevel). It looks like pretty simple but I never tried it yet so I can't say more atm. When I will be less busy with other stuff (when ? :?), I've a mind to convert some TO urban maps to UT99 DM format for sniper mod.
Landscape is more complex if you want to convert maps from a game to UT99 which uses a different engine (for example Quake3Arena to UT99 maps). Truly, I don't know if it works but I think the workflow depends on the editor used by the other game. What I can tell you is that using 3DStudioMax or Google SketchUp in the final step of the conversion process could be useful because both of them have full-working converters (Undying Tool and HSKP2UNR) that can export to a valid .t3d format. Exporting geometry data to .obj format from the original editor (for example NetRadiant) into 3Dmax or SketchUp could be a possibility.

The screenshot above is a model for players to use, came out somewhere between 2006 & 2008.

The video at the top of this thread shows someone coverted this model into a monster... which is what this thread was mainly about. To find the map so I could get the monster.

Not having the best of luck with that so far. The .rar I got may not have all the files or I'm missing something obvious.

About dU... Interesting because me and my friend Pizzi testing and I showing for him my map. Thats just was 1.5 hour testing maybe after we deleted from the server. Interesting because I don't release my map and I later found that here my BETA map. Permission... Why don't ask me that, dU is want to upload here my map? I think thats just a joke in the downloads every map have over V1-V2-V3-V4-V5 version...
Forum: http://www.destinationunreal.com/module ... opic&t=641
Download: http://www.destinationunreal.com/module ... ap&id=2069
That was long time ago but Im just kidding, I HAVE PERMISSION for every file but, I did not know who to contact, Im looking for hes name and put it in to the ReadMe file. And don't get it why ask me why Im testing in a server. That's just lolz.
How show to my friend how looks my map if we are not in same country?
But btw now we are testing only in a test server with PW. So we need test playing for our MH maps because sometimes there is a bug or something mistake what I don't see, that's all. And why I use a lot file?
Because I don't want to playing with standard shit things and I want to make my map really special.
Not just a simple MH map what you do in 10-15 minute. Thats over 4-5 hour with 4-5 player.
There is a lot of weapon, easter eggs and secret zones, and much more. So Im not a mapper who make fast a map and release so much shitty simple map and not the point is making many map. I do the maps from my heart. Looks good, let it be playable, and keep alive UT, etc...
I think some map is really boring you can finish it easily and after (5.) time you bored the map.
Summary, Im just trying to make something special and not just a simple map, that's all! :P

Haven't had the time, and as all of them require the newer version of oldskool I couldn't play them anyway.
