CTF4/CTFM maps

Post by heliumcat »

Are there any new ones being made atm?

I keep on stumbling into the same old maps of this gametype everywhere I search via google.

Perhaps the newer ones are harder to find or non-existent?

Or perhaps I could handle it the captain pirate way and load non-ctf4/ctfm maps into unrealed, place 4 flags in them and save them as ctf4 or ctfm maps.

They are admittedly very hard to find, and if my computer were fixed yet I could send you a list of good places to look...

...in the meantime, I've been putting team specific talking titans on the ones I have:

Dr. Evil's got a lot of very cool maps, he's a warp·zone junkie!

I actually love assymetrical maps where each team has their own completely unique looking base and landscape surrounding it.

Like that ctfm-fireiceslimebullet map.

Oh and team-colored teamcannons would also be lovely for this gametype.

Or perhaps some sort of mutator that places cybot-like drones inside of each team's base for extra defense who are unable to move out of the team's base they are defending.

That would be cool, though not entirely necessary. The cybot's core programming, as ferali made it, is the moment they're done attacking something (either they killed it or it got away), the cyboot immediately runs back to its starting point...

...then again, stationary might be cool too.

Team colored teamcannons might be tricky. Simple enough to do, but you'd have to configure them manually. Can't just put them on a map, specify a team, and expect them to shoot in the right color.

I have a few assymetrical CTF maps, but not CTF4 ones.

Like you can tell from the 3rd screenshot up there, I play elimination CTF4. Anytime your flag is taken and scored by the other team, you lose a point. If you lose enough points you have the negative of what the winning score is, your team gets deleted.

Sometimes I also play Flag Carry, meaning you've gotta carry your taken flag back to your own base.

I intended, if I ever hosted games again, that I'd use CTF4 for all CTF games. Even on 2 flag maps CTF4 rules would still apply. The Map·Randomizer mutator I use can't tell the difference between CTF4 CTF CTFM, so it would randomly select any from all of those I currently have.

You know, you've got a lot of the same maps in both of those directories.
