coop servers
We need some backup at the coop server.
This server can run on ut99 and unreal1 also versions 227 and 436.
I think all unreal and ut 99 fraggers can play there.
Annyways we are now looking for some backup because of ending the map.
we are now with 3 players bud we need more to succeed on this map.
be careefull there are some red creatures bots who are coming at night out of the caves ,and these are very nasty.
more people needed for ending the map right away.
please join in.End lets end this.
{kds}unreal coop deathmatch server.
server ip number:70.159.97.30:5705
unreal:70.159.97.30"5705
cu there.

Re: coop servers
If this is a server advertising then it's rather unusual. And your thread title very vague.
If this isn't advertising then is this section not the right place for this thread.

No its not we where playing at that server bot the bots where very dificult to beat.billybill wrote:He is advertising, only people who read the thread in 12 hours probably won't be able to help with his request. But over-all yes it's advertising
And there was just 2 guys playing on that server trying to beat some very nasty bots.
We have to defeat them becouse the server is not loading the next level.
We where kinda stock there with a shitload of very nasty bots.
It was also a very strange level with day and night ,and also with time variation in it.
yesterday night i went back to that server ,and the server was just empty.
Btw i never seen a server who can play people onit with various unreal versions.
I did just leave the server because i went dead alot of times.

Re: coop servers
Is this thread in the "right" section yet?
I approve of the 'advertising', regardless of where it is posted.
Particularly for a gametype, (Coop), which is the root of all UT. (Unreal Anyone?)
It is really cool, that 1 server can run many versions of unreal. (i.e. multiple maps, gametypes etc)
I think I am about to check out this server in just a few minutes here.
It seems to be the only other coop server in the list atm.
And it had 4 players on it.
Today is the 1st day I have played UT in over 2 years. Also the 1st day I have done anything
to my servers, other than making sure the scripts was running.
Seems I had all the master servers IP's hardcoded in my servers ini files, and those changed quite a while
back. DERP !
This is now fixed, I think.
I have only been getting traffic from players who had me in favorites since then I suppose.
It was good to still see at least 1 server in the Coop Servers list when I checked it today, and noticed mine missing....
Anyway, I am gonna check this out, just to see if there are any file mis-matches that conflict with what I have
on my servers.
Will post an edit to this after I check it out a bit. *Edit - the OP's server works fine. More detail 2 posts lower.

If it's not v451 linux you may want to try this: viewtopic.php?t=5624

Re: coop servers
All my servers have been running the v440 linux version since shortly after that was released.
Interesting project you have in the link there. Has it been tested with v440? Is it needed for that version?
I have been operating for years under the assumption that the best server version for dedicated linux servers was v440, and the best
version for dedicated windows servers was the v451. With the best version for all clients being the patched/bonus packed version of v436.
In addition to the coop servers, I got a AS/MegaDOM server and a TDM server all running v440 for linux on the same physical linux server box.
These have all been running 24/7 for at least 12 years now. They just lost touch with the master server for a
while I was on an extended break from UT.
Back to the OP's server.
I connected and played for a while fine. No file mismatches on the map they had running.
It seemed to run smooth and without any glitches. Basic config, but that is a good thing.
Plays well. It was fun.
It shows up fine in the Coop Servers tab if you have the old skool mod installed.
Note the port seems to have changed to 5707 since the 1st post. IP is the same.

billybill wrote:Where do you even get v440 linux patch? I tried to install it from the UTPG site, turned out the patch was just a compressed bunch of files. When the older files are overridden the server fails to launch Can someone lend some help?
I guess I'll try again and document exactly what happens when I execute
I've had some varying discussions with the support of the server rental host gameservers.com. On one hand they say I can upload a full Rune server in place of a UT one. Then on the other they say they will absolutely not support or install anything but the un-official 451. Once again I appeal for help... if 440 is boss then what reasons in stone can I pass on in support of the argument

Re: coop servers
Hmmm... Its been at least 12 years or more since I actually did the install of v4.40 on the server.
Made backups of the game folder and the users directory (.loki) and just copied them around and changed the
configs as needed ever since.
I assume you made sure all the new files you extracted from the patch all had the correct rights and flags set?
If I recall they had some instructions on the setup either included with the patch files, or on the UTPG site somewhere.
Like I said, its been a long time since I did that...
