To UPAK or not UPAK - that is the question :)

Maps, mods and resources ported from or to Unreal.
Must run in UT99 or with Oldskool Amp'd.
Unreal 227 only projects are "Off-Topic"

To UPAK or not UPAK - that is the question :)

Post by FraGnBraG »

I'd rather not, but if i must i'll install ...

Does anyone know if the RTNP DM maps are (somewhere) ut-ized already? I want to quickly revist them without having to run RTNP...

I know there was chatter long ago about all this but some one might save me the digging...

If there's no such maps/pack etc I'll play them in RTNP -

Thanks

To be honest the UPak single player maps are way better than the DM ones.
There is one specific indoors DM map with a cloaking device that was kinda decent...

EDIT:
I made a halfassed UPak.u conversion that works with UT, I can PM it if you need to load these maps.

hey that's pretty cool of you Higor :tu:
You can pm it to me if you like...
Greatly appreciated :)

ps - yeah I can take your word about the quality of the rtnp dm maps,
but i'm in a weird mood lately and for some reason need to revisit these old numbers :noidea
(just went through about 50 old unreal dm, which actually work fine in ut, except upak ones ...

Thanks again

actually, Higor's files worked great! i could load the rtnp dm maps, and heh, have to agree 100% regarding the quality of those dm's (pretty bad, lol) except for the one with the blue diamond invisibility thingy... hazard was probably the worst, one i recognized iirc as a level from the actual game (outdoors and has a deep recession with water in the bottom and a big lift on the side to get back up...)

so now i might just revisit the sp maps ... :)

Cheers

Fact:
I would have uploaded those SP maps a long time ago to Chamberly's server if it wasn't for that UPak.u file and it's conversions.
I'm considering a XC_GameEngine workaround of some sort.
