Sounds nice. There already is a Invasion mod that plays regular invasion with U2 Skaarjs as the only monsters (spawning around a million of them). Adding the other wildlife is going to be nice.

It would be even better if the AI and AI scripting system were imported. We could have actual SP with good-looking models instead of relying on old Unreal 1 stuff and their actors which were translated to UT2004 a few years ago by a great game whose name escapes my mind right now.

I tried converting the AI system to UT2004 a while ago but never had any luck. If I remember correctly, I was able to get one or two of the base AI classes, but the advanced classes that actually did stuff needed some native code from Unreal 2.

I can't say I liked working on this pack. No matter what I did, the monsters still feel like UT2004 monsters. The only things I could do to improve the pack now include adding ragdolls and bugfixes, and I don't have the patience (or skill) for it when they'll still feel just like UT2004's monsters. What I really wanted to do was convert the monsters to invasion, and then convert Unreal 2's AI so that a remake of Unreal 2 might be possible in UT2004 or even U2XMP. It never worked out, though. :noidea

As the pack is now, it's not that good.

Don't be too hard on yourself, that's still a lot of had and appreciated work. I'm glad to hear you say you've tried to port the whole AI thing and sad to know it's impossible, but still, a lot of work and congratulation for what you've achieved. There are still some people around who know U2 and who can appreciate what you did and what you tried to do. :)

Never got around to testing these, but it looks like someone else did with an even more enhanced pack which included U2 weapons too.

Look at the name of the video uploader, and then look at mine.

That's an old video that uses GreatEmerald's UTXMP weapons conversion.

I guess I have an earlier version of your work..."UT2k4_U2Creatures_Beta2.7z" from 2013. Is this an update on that or totally different? Great work!

Beta 4 is the latest version so far. I'm going to release a fix for some problems today.

It's DM-DC-Canal, from Runestorm. I think it's in one of their Ballistics Weapons packs, or maybe it was in a separate map pack download.

My apologies but this awsome thread will have to be moved to Off-Topic, as we are a UT99 specific site (with the exception of other content that can be used in UT or Unreal with the botpack).

I've had Ballistics for long and the Runestorm musics for even longer (I Even used one of them in, I think, my third map, back in the glory days of UT2004), and I had never downloaded the complete pack with maps and vehicles. Just did it and tested this map, it's quite fun and possibly the first UT200X map I see which uses ladders. :D Thanks for that!
