Active UT2004 Forums?

Post by UTNerd24 »

Dont be alarmed, I still love UT99, But recently, ive tried being a bit more open-ended and trying some UT2004 as well.
I got the U4E mod of it but I have a problem. I dont think im gonna get too many answers here, but if so, I'm more then happy to state my problem.
I've been playing UT for so long it's practically tradition.

I've always been a great fan of UT2004, even more so than UT99. But honestly, appart from Epic's forums, most UT2004 communities died out mid 2008 in my experience. There might be a few remnants here and there, but that's it.
You must construct additional pylons.

Yup, there are many UT2004 lovers here.
There are still some useful 2K4 sites, though you may find the official Epic forums are now the best place to find active modders.
The Killing Floor mod still has a following so you will find those forums are still active.
Chaos UT2004 is also still semi-supported, and may actually get another update soon !

Just like UT99 there is much you can add to the mix, but with 2K4 the bigger mods are always installed in their own folder.
To make all the resources show in your main game, you must add the new path locations of the mod under the normal paths in the UT ini.

It is worth using the 64 bit patch if you can. It will add a working D3D9 renderer.

If you like monsters, you will love UT2004.

Most forums have a UT2004 section, which is about as active as the rest of the forum. Just skim the Board Index to find it.

Beyond that, only one I've got on the Active List is · https://forums.epicgames.com/forums/249 ... -2003-2004 · which is for 2k3 & 2k4.

So with a certain selection of weapons in the U4E mod, a heap of errors appear that seem to list the weapons actions in the chat.
Is something wrong here? Is my version outdated? I could use a hand.

This is client logging of errors. I forgot that 2K4 allows those to be seen live. Anyway if you run this scenario again then go directly to your UT2004.log file you will see these same errors but in a bit expanded form. Zip one of these up and send it to me via PM. I want to see the loading section of it and some of the error lines. Be sure to grab a log right after one of these games since it will be overwritten every time you play.

Im curious about the downloads. Because the online game is dead, I play sometimes with mods offline.
I downloaded everything from http://ut2004.ut-files.com/ but I dont know there is more stuff for this game.
If yes, please share for me any UT2K4 file site where I can get more files.

Try the 2 links I gave in my last post. There are lots of 2004 resources linked in both pages
