Just played there, had a nice game, but I noticed that you don't seem to have a redirect server (downloads were quite slow).

You should have been there earlier... some tough matches got played.
For me the download went ok. When you disconnect during a slow download and reconnect is it getting very fast.

Thanks for letting me know. I still have MPUK's redirect in use so downloads should not have been slow.
But its possible I missed one or two. Do you remember the files names?

@papercoffee @makemeunreal and others - THANK YOU for joining last night. Really appreciated. Pretty cool to have some games with the people from here.

I'm always looking for ways to improve things so suggestions welcome.

One thing I noticed was at least 5 players joining and then disconnecting straight away. I think that was to install ACE. But then they never came back :|
Thought it may be a kick but no ACE kick logs. Strange.

I'm starting to go through all the Deck versions that were posted here and might try cycling a few versions to spice things up.

Thank you again, would like to arrange another fragfest soon :tu: :tu:

It was a blast (because I'm a rocket guy) to play on your server. Even so I died more often than fragged someone.
Nogardi is a tough sniper dude as well. :tu:

If you still want to have a map with Food Fight weapons on it I suggest to use the MH version of them they are much stronger and have no reload plus only 11.8mb. http://www.moddb.com/mods/food-fight/do ... nt-edition
And the Frying Pan gives the player a speed boost.
I can edit a map with FF if you want.

Oh but I don't know how well it works with your give-all-weapons mutator.

Thanks papercoffee

I'm sure we could do something with FF. Mapvote could be configured to work with FF easily. Plus I have the 30mb on MPUK's fast redirect so it should be fine.
Let me see what I can do :)

It wasn't a particular one, all of them were slower to download than what they should.
It was more noticeable with a single file which was in the order of MB, but files which were between 10kB and 50kB took about 2 to 3 seconds each to download, which with a redirect server should be pretty much instant (you shouldn't be able to even notice them).

As for ACE and people leaving, that's normal.
NPLoader forces the player to leave the server, opens a big popup like if there was some kind of error, and tells the player to install some unknown native dll file for which the entire loader implies they shouldn't at all, and you have to manually hit the reconnect button.

Many players would leave at the sight of the popup alone, let alone all the other steps in order to enter. Most players do not know anything about ACE at all.
If the NPLoader had a way to just hit "OK" and install stuff and reconnect on its own, you probably wouldn't have lost those players.

If you have set it up call me and I show you some tricks and how the weapons are used.

Well. Same here. So much rifle action you guys did. I wonder how the engine knew who headshoted me.

@nogardilaref

Just wanted to thank you for mentioning the slow downloads.
Another player posted on our forum saying that after a fresh install of UT the downloads were all slow so he gave up!

Long story short the old redirect service is gone and a new super fast one is in place!

Its probably not the only reason why the server was quiet for a while but probably a major factor!

Thanks again for the feedback.

Ive now put 3 extra versions of Deck 16 on rotation there - check them out!
