Re: Legend of Zelda
Legend of Zelda? Not bad, but in my opinion, I much more like other RPGs like Chrono Trigger or Breath of Fire.
Heh, and now that I found a LoZ topic, I can only add these words from a friend of mine:
"What the hell? How can you even like such a game!? Damn Zelda is a freekin' pedophile!!! Don't you even notice it!?"
Bye.

O.o WTF? Well, it seems your friend didn't play the game at all then. For me is one of the best RPGs ever, most Ocarina of Time (but opinions are opinions of course), now saying that it's pedophile, that's from someone who doesn't know what the hell is talking about.UBX Master wrote: Heh, and now that I found a LoZ topic, I can only add these words from a friend of mine:

I played several versions of LoZ myself (not all of them), and none (and I repeat none) had a single line, action or talk that sugests any kind of pedophilism between the characters relationship.
What your friend might have seen to interpret as "pedophilism" are many fanart pics that show indeed that kind of situation, but it's fanart, not the true story, nor the true game.
EDIT: Even the manga, which is based in many of the versions of this game, doesn't show that LOL

Re: Legend of Zelda
I guess he was drunk when he said that, though.
I like LoZ, but I prefer to stay with the classic 2D gameplay. I have played A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Oracle of Time and oracle of Seasons.
I even see, somehow, an analogy with the Mario series. You know, Zelda gets always kidnapped and rescued by Link, just like Peach and Mario. But there are more games in this style, I think...

Re: Legend of Zelda
I didn't play the first 2 you mencioned, but I have played the other 2. I like it both 2D and 3D, but after the first 3D one they released of this game, I became a bit addicted to this game for a while, it was really awsome. Still I have to see if I can play the Master Quest version of it.UBX Master wrote: I like LoZ, but I prefer to stay with the classic 2D gameplay. Yeah, fully agree. It's Nintendo, they have some games with that same theme, but the big difference I personally see between LOZ and the other games, is that LOZ has a much deeper story, which makes of it the best one of all, and a game I personally want sometimes to play again and again, times to times. Now Mario, I play like 3 times (with some time interval), and I get bored at the end, because it's the same world style, same items, etc, still it's a great game, no doubt about it.UBX Master wrote: I even see, somehow, an analogy with the Mario series. There was a Mario version that I always loved, but I can't see to get it anywhere: it's an old one, where you can get vegetables from the ground and throw them to enemies, that version for me is the best one of all. But I don't remember the name, and I can't get it anywhere.

Oh! That's Super Mario Bros. 2. Either for the NES, the original game, the SNES, for which this game is included in the 'Super Mario All-Stars' collection, or for the GBA, for which it's called 'Super Mario Advance' and has some new features.Feralidragon wrote: There was a Mario version that I always loved, but I can't see to get it anywhere: it's an old one, where you can get vegetables from the ground and throw them to enemies, that version for me is the best one of all. More I know about SMB 2 is that it's a 'Marioized' version of Doki Doki Panic, a Japanese game for the NES, and that this is the reason why it's usually called 'Super Mario 2 USA', because it was there where it was created. In Japan, Super Mario Bros. 2 is like plain SMB but with different levels and gameplay, plus the poison mushroom. Outside Japan, it's known as 'Super Mario Bros. : The Lost Levels'.
I don't think there are many stores that still have old games like this, but you might find it on ebay. But there's also the option of using an emulator, which is 'partially' legal.
